It’s brand new, and the same Vapiano experience as everywhere else - except not quite. Its still a way to get your quick pasta or pizza fix, freshly made and very tasty, but this Vapiano changes the ordering style from the traditional standing in line with your tablet and wait until you get to the counter to the more practical separate ordering lines with personal buzzers to call you up when it’s done. Including modern touchscreen ordering terminals. Very nice. Having said that, it’s biggest two issues are still their pricing (the sparkling water in the picture is €3.50), which rivals upscale Italian restaurants, and very large crowds at lunch times. Go here either right after opening, or in the afternoon, otherwise it’s long waiting times, loud environment and shared tables with strangers.

When we came into Vienna we were excited to see a Vapiano because we knew we had a guaranteed good bite on our post train day. Unfortunately this location was no longer serving when we were finally able to stop by, despite it being 45 minutes before closing time. Frustrating, but other eatery’s, including a great Italian restaurant, are around the corner and open later near the metro station. When I did eat there the next day it was very delicious with prompt service despite a large crowd. The person serving up food was very accommodating when they presented the soup I ordered for takeaway in a dining in bowl. They kept it warm for me while I ate my pasta, which was yummy as expected.

Ordered two Pizzas with extras (plus Mozzarella on both and plus Spicy Salami on one and plus Ham on the other), got both pizzas without any extras, when confronting the staff they tried to deny it („This is already more mozzarella than usual“). After some arguing they finally took the pizza back to add the missing extras, even tho I told them it was Spicy salami and showed the receipt they added normal salami. On the other pizza they added exactly one slice of ham. For paying more than 10€ for 4 extras this is pretty sad. Also while I waited for them to reheat the pizza another customer complained as well about missing extras, so this doesn’t seem to be an one off error. Would not recommend eating here.

The food is great, they make it fresh and custom to order. We eat here frquently and have tried the chicken, beef and vegan versions as well, both are great. The restaurant is nice indoors too, with calming background music that does not prevent guests from hearing each other. A huge disappointment is that they advertised a free coffee for writing a review, but they said later this promo is not valid anymore dispite all tables had the qr code and the promo ad… i won’t delete it, as i review places anyway, but this is nor a five in service attitude.

I had a small pizza dough appetizer with an olive paste dip and a Spaghetti Bolognese. In my opinion, Bolognese is a ragout, but what I got was just plain boiled spaghetti, drenched in tomato oil, with maybe 10 grams of meat sauce. I was so disappointed. It wasn't inedible—it was an okay dish—but it had nothing to do with Spaghetti Bolognese. The only reason I ate there was because it was late, I was hungry, and I had been traveling all day. I don’t think I’ll ever come back.
