Bep Viet Restaurant — Restaurant in Vienna

As a Vietnamese girl, I am disappointed. Asked for spicy sauce and was given spicy oil? At first, I thought maybe they don’t have sriracha sauce which would had been surprising but I didn’t pay attention to it. However, it is when my dish was almost done that I noticed the man next to us had it and I just don’t get why we were not offered it when I asked for it. Overall, the food is not that good either I couldn’t finish my bun rieu. Only good point is that the shrimps were big and they served the right sauce with the goi cuon but the waiters were not nice at all and never asked if everything was alright during our visit, I guess they knew by my face that I would tell it is not so they bother asking and they were right. First time ordering (to go) from Bep Viet. Delicious, has the distinctive Vietnamese flavors. Ordered papaya salad with shrimp (the roasted sesame with peanuts topping combinationis is new very delicious), lemongrass beef (vegetables was overcooked but the long bean was a good addition), cold rice noodle with pork (flavorful and moist) and egg roll and a Sagion beer. Also had Vietnamese ice coffee, was good too, has a strong kick which I prefer over the too sweet ones. The couple running it and the cook were Vietnamese/Austrian, a plus. They are happy to help with picking something from the menu if you have no idea what to pick. Saw they have a few Vietnamese dessert options (a rare rare) which I will have to try next time. Ich war schon oft hier essen aber nach dem Besuch heute, werde ich nie wieder hingehen. Mein Freund und ich haben uns beide das gleiche mittagsmenü (Tofu mit Gemüse) bestellt. Er mir eierreis und ich ohne. Als das Essen ankam und ich probierte, wurde mir sofort schlecht. 1. stank mein Gericht sehr vergammelt und verdorben und genau so hat es geschmeckt. Mein Freund hatte das gleiche Gericht und seins hat super geschmeckt. Darauf hin habe ich der Kellnerin Bescheid gegeben. Zu uns kam dann (vermutlich) der Restaurant Inhaber dem ich ganz lieb nur erklärt habe, dass es komisch schmeckt und verdorben. Er wurde sehr aggressiv und hat mir gar nicht zugehört und meinte, dass ich nur übertreibe und das gar nicht stimmt. Ich sagte mehrmals zu ihm, dass er selbst das Gericht probieren soll und er mir dann auch erklären soll, wieso das gleiche Gericht von meinem Freund gut schmeckt und meins verdorben?

Ich wäre natürlich das Problem. Er bat mir nicht einmal an, dass er mir das gleiche Gericht nochmal zubereitet bringt, weil meins ja nicht verdorben war. Dann unterstellte er mir auch noch, dass ich hier keine Sonderwünsche bekomme, er habe ohnehin schon extra mir auf Wunsch normalen Reis statt eierreis gegeben und ich hier das Problem bin und nicht das verdorbene Gericht. Ich erklärte ihm, dass ich die Vorspeise (frühlingsrolle) zahlen würde und er bitte gehen soll. Beim zahlen habe ich ihn dann nochmals gesagt, dass er das nächste Mal mit Kunden vielleicht netter reden sollte. Er „entschuldigte“ sich dann eh und meinte dann, dass der andere Geschmack wahrscheinlich an der WOK Pfanne lag. Da frag ich mich, eigentlich ob die Pfannen nicht gereinigt werden? Eine Meldung beim Marktamt wird jedenfalls erstattet, dass dieses Restaurant verdorbenes Essen verkauft.
