It is a great idea to have a coffeshop implemented in a bookstore. Sounds natural, but I knew this fusion concept especially from America, from Santa Monica to be specific, but here in Vienna, ths concept is not that common. So I was glad to find the Coffee Fellows in the Thalia Bookstore, located in the Mariahilferstraße, the heart of Vienna's shopping street. The atmosphere is great due to the many books in close reach on the same level on the one hand and the many sofa-chairs this coffeeshop provides. So its quite stimulating and comfortable at the same time.
The sandwiches and desserts here are quite American, as you can find it in any big American coffeeshop chain, but in contrast here you get the Austrian Almdudler, this delicious and famous herb lemonade, you only get in Austria. The bagel with cream cheese was also very delicious and the view through the windows onto the crowded Viennese shopping street Mariahilfer Straße, is also quite stimulating if the books alone don't do it.
From Vienna with love! Dr. Dr....

But I loved the atmosphere, it's not crowded at all and the view is not bad, very hard to find a cafe on higher floors. Spotless and the furniture is very classic. For working/studying- the best place ever, I'm not sure if it's fine for reading though, to my mind the music would rather bother you.
The music (Pop/Indie Rock) is also okay, not too loud. I had not heard any songs from Taylor Swift so far, so must give 5 stars.
The coffee is alright, I'm not very educated on coffee, but it cooled down really fast. After, like, 5 minutes, it was already completely cold. Should it be so? I remember coffee tend to take at least 10 minutes to completely cool down...
Oh, yeah, and the Internet did not...
Read moresometimes the staff is nice, but mostly it's not. when i enter it feels like everyone hates me (especially girls, very upsetting). the last time ive ordered lactose free coffee (im lactose intolerant and feel REALLY bad after drinking milk) and got a normal one instead. the employee said "cappuccino 3 second pause lactose free" like it would get lactose free after saying that. i saw which milk she used but thought maybe im not so aware of milk and this one was lactose free. today i came to check which one it was and yup - she used normal milk for me. it was obvious because i've never felt so bad after coffee before. i don't really know if it was neglecting or just being unaware, either way i will not order coffee...
