Das Käuzchen — Restaurant in Vienna

Lovely place deceivingly cavernous and spacious inside with lots of hidden seating areas. Very quirky interior lots of unique framed pictures, ornaments and retro knick knacks adding a fun element which extends into the toilets 😊

I had the chicken schnitzel with fries ( in hindsight I should have selected potatoes) but it was delicious, chicken was still tender not overcooked or dry. I like the shredded cabbage slightly pickled saukrat style side, but I missed the traditional side of cranberry.

Food was very generous, good quality and extremely reasonably priced. Accompanied by a refeshing rose and Aperol Spritz.

A welcoming place, service was attentive and polite despite it getting increasingly busy and loud, one of the waitresses took the time stop by and ask if everything was OK.

I didn't eat here, so I can only comment from the perspective of someone that had a couple of beers.

I popped into this place while wandering around Vienna at the tail-end of a jaunt around Europe. The first thing that struck me when I passed by was the cool looking set-up and buzzy ambience of the outside seating area. The customers there seemed to be enjoying themselves. The social vibes seemed smooth. Inside it seemed cozy and a bit funky. The vibe you get inside is that it's a bar for people who are a bit bohemian and musical, although anyone is welcome. The staff are cool and friendly. The beer is good. The service is really good.

I liked the place. I liked the vibes, and I'd probably buzz in and out of this place more often if I was living nearby in Vienna.

Atmospheric Austrian tavern with outside seating on benches and plenty of seats inside as well. Inside was quite warm and stuffy on this particular evening so we much preferred the outside. Be prepared to share your bench, however, if you're a crowd smaller than five or so. Service was pleasant, though our dessert took much too long to arrive, even after a reminder. They also require a 50 eur minimum to pay by card, which seems quite old fashioned.

Food was fair, the pork schnitzel was nice though I wish I'd have switched the side from fries to potato salad or something more interesting.
