das café — Restaurant in Vienna

I liked this cafe a lot and brought lots of friends until now.. On 28th of December in 2023 at 20 o’clock, we were sitting with my boyfriend and studying with our laptops and books. We waited for the waiter to come and clean the table for 15 minutes!!! But we did not say anything because he was working alone (the cafe was not even half full 😅, but okay). Anyways, he cleaned the table after 15 minutes, which was the longest waiting session I have ever waited for a waiter to clean the table. But we did not complain about anything. After 45 minutes of studying, he came and told us to move to another table because the chef did not want to have people with laptops on some specific tables. It was a bit strange because it had been 45 minutes already. I was studying with a book, so I said it would have been diffucult for me because I needed a light to see and read my book. The other tables had no light. He said it was not his decision and we said okay. After only 4 minutes he came to us and said we have to move now and he does not want to come every 5 minutes to tell us this. The problem here is the attitude. He was the worst waiter I have ever seen in my life. We have waited 15 MINUTES for him to clean a table. And he cannot wait 4 MINUTES. It was very disrespectful. I went to him to say that we were going to change the table if he could only wait for a couple of minutes. I was studying and it was so hard for him to wait for 4 minutes. He was only laughing as a response. So this is not acceptable. I won‘t come to this cafe again if the waiters attitude does not change. Very sorry that I had to experience this in my favourite cafe. I will never come here again and have to tell this everyone if I do not get any...

The atmosphere is alright, great location. Not so fast internet, wifi will be disconnected around 10:15pm, when closing time is at 11pm. One waiter that wears a silver framed glasses, apparently the only waiter during that time around 5pm, was kinda rude, he responded with some attitude when i asked him nicely if theres any spots left to sit. After sitting down, the table wasnt cleaned for the entire time i was sitting there, no menu was given after sitting there for 6 hours. But the funny thing is, he would clean the tables and bring the menu to customers that are within his reach, or maybe cause they were mostly female? Not so sure. Since the waiter didnt come to me to bring a menu or clean my table I had to go to the counter and wait for a while until he comes and gets my order, and again, with some attitude. Additionally, he would get the check of other customers first, even though i was standing there the entire time waiting to get one order. To be honest, I have no clue why that sort of treatment...

Such a disappointment. Me and other 3 friends went there on a Sunday morning. We had to wait 1 hour to get what we ordered (4 drinks, 3 dishes). Not even water was brought to us while we were waiting. All tables have this very nice "laptop free zone", pity that we were surrounded by people with laptops, iPads etc., sometimes occupying a whole 5 people table, while they were alone. I read another review here that described the staff as "sad", and I couldn't agree more. Always talked silently to us, brought us something we did not order and said "you can keep it" while then they wanted us to pay it. Quite low quality food and coffee. At the moment of paying the bill, our bills were split separately after we said we wanted to pay by card. Only then, they told us "oh you can't pay by card under 15€" (???) Then why were we asked if we wanted to pay by card or cash? All in all, the place looks nice but the atmosphere, waiting time and service just don't make it worth it. Would not be going there...
