I wanted to eat something small, fast, but with fresh vegetables. I thought that choosing a small salad, a mix of lettuce + vegetables, would be a safe option. The vegetables were not very fresh, a bit dry. However, the whole salad was covered in a disgusting sauce that tasted disgusting and made me feel sick, there was too much of it. I called the waitress to come over to me, I wanted to tell him that the salad was inedible, I wanted to pay and leave, saying that I no longer wanted the dessert I ordered. Before he came over to me, he cleared a few tables and placed the order, and I was still waiting. he cames back with my dessert, which I no longer wanted after the salad. I pointed out to him that the salad was inedible, to which I heard "oh, sorry" - maybe something more? Ask what happened? Bring it to the kitchen's attention? Maybe deduct the salad from the bill? I can still taste the sauce - BLEH. The quality of the cuisine is best judged by vegetables and salads. I learned this while working in a restaurant for 8 years. I will never go back. +get to know the taste of this sauce and do training for waiters on how to react in such situations.

A very nice Italian restaurant near the Vienna main railway station. The staff is friendly and welcoming. The service is fast and professional. The food is delicious. We didn't expect such a great restaurant close to the station but it was full and this showed that it was a very popular restaurant, not just for travelers but also for the locals. They also have a display with the train departures inside. It was a bit drafty and cold inside the restaurant because of a relatively big turnover of customers, not just those who dined in but also food delivery people and those who just came for a takeaway meal. One can see how fast and efficiently the guys work to serve everyone. We had a nice evening there and enjoyed our food and drinks.

It is expected to wait for a longer time period at the counter. Every table is marked as reserved regardless if the table is needed or not. As we were tired of waiting after a certain time we took a smaller table for two. The waitress lectured us that we were not suppossed to choose a table ourself. The restaurant was quite okay a few years ago. I was there regularly once a week. In past year the waiter forgot on several occassions an order, said that there was no free bread for the soup and so on. I used to always get free bread with the soup. Today's pizza ham tasted sour which indicates the ham was over it's experiation date or was not properly stored and handled. The pizza is quite tasteless. The pizza is more like an overcooked try bread. It lacks the ingredients on top. We were not asked if we want garlic which is common for pizza restaurants in austria. This was my first visit after several months and the personal needs to be retrained. Not only the language is unacceptable, also certsin behaviours are unacceptable. When you ask for an opinion than you have to listen to the opinion or just do not ask at all. The waitress forgot the extra egg on the pizza. I requested to leave the plate as is on the table. They personal did not even listen at all. When it is served than it is served. The prices are very expensive. The quality is poor. The customer has to be very patient until the drinks, food and receed is served. Next to it is a mc donald which is far more customer friendly. When you are thirsty or when you want a coffee you better go to the mc donalds next door. When you want a decent pizza you may look for something else. The furniture is very worn out. The tables are not cleaned up after the last customers just im time. When you are looking for the italian look only you may visit them. This restaurant may be soon a candidate for hells kitchen. Pizza overlaps the plate and touches the dirty disgusting table. Not sure if it is common to serve pizza on a much smaller plate. Only time i remember seeing such in austria. The 12 euros for a pizza are not well spend when you consider you can get a similar pizza for 6 euro without the requirement fir tips on the other end of the subway. I gave them today a chance after their last rudeness several months ago. A big mistake. Out of respect for my college i stayed. It was not only lecturing fir takibg a table, a second waiter told me i was wrong, and than my collegue pointed out the missing egg. I said leave the plate on my table but there were already the hands of my college and two personal on the plate. It is rude to not respect the customer. The plate us served than it is served with or without the egg. Telling a customer that he is wrong is very bad regardless who may be wrong. I do not point out every flaw. Also when the waiter indirectly asks me I gave in short my point of view. The personal lacks training in listening. No one cares for justifications. Listen, think and maybe improve or not. Big no go is the smoker tables in front of the restaurant. You need to pass the smoker area to enter the restaurant. Considering around 17% of the population smokes, is the decission for such a big smoker table area a no go.

For such prices i also expect bigger tables and not such small tables which are a little bit wider as a small wooden chair.

I may visit again in several years. For the next time it is ruled out because it s costly, hazardous smokes, rude personal, lack in quality and lack of taste.

I hope they may offer free bread again for their tiny amount of soup which usually...

Me and my colleague went to this restaurant and faced sort of racism I think and not very polite and bad services. Even though the workers saw me raised hand they didn't come for like 10 minutes. I thought they might be busy but I saw that worker just eat something at the bars(?) and talk and laugh with their co-workers and also go to the other tables that came way after us. and I saw that the workers go to tables with the only European and other people who are not Asian. After waiting for like 15 minutes one of the worker took our order. Actually we didn't feel nice about this at the moment so we didn't think of taste of the food. After we finish our meal, we were trying to get bill and pack the rest of the food. We raised our hands but even though the worker saw us, they never came to us. I just asked one of the female worker to give us the bill and pack the rest of food and she went back to the kitchen but never came back either. After 15 more minutes, the other guy came to our table and start clean up. I told him that we will take the rest of the pizza and he understood. but he put the plates on our pizza and packed it for us. Putting plates on the Pizza. Are you serious? Who would like to take it home if you put the plates on the pizza? We didn't give any tips due to really bad services and felt racism in this restaurant. I see other reviews of this restaurant and see the others faced mostly same stuff. I recommend to go there with your European friends if you want to get good service. If I'm allowed to give them 0 stars then I definately give them 0.

L,Osteria is situated in a prime spot near the main station, making it an easy stop for tourists and travelers. However, the restaurant seems to rely too much on this busy location rather than focusing on quality. It feels more like a pub than a place where you’d go for a proper meal.

Ambiance and Atmosphere

The setting is quite plain, lacking any charm or character. While it serves its purpose as a quick stop, the overall atmosphere isn’t inviting. The staff didn’t seem particularly engaged except for one enthusiastic waiter, most of them kept to the sidelines, avoiding interaction rather than providing service.

Food Quality and Experience

I ordered a Quattro Formaggi pizza, expecting the rich, cheesy flavors the dish is known for. Instead, what arrived was mostly tomato sauce with a little cheese on top, far from what I was hoping for. The taste was forgettable, and it was clear that quality was not a priority.

Service and Staff

While one waiter showed genuine motivation, the rest of the team seemed uninterested. Service was slow, and there was little effort to make customers feel welcome.

Pricing vs. Value

For the quality of food and the basic setting, the prices felt too high. It’s clear the restaurant counts on a high tourist turnover rather than repeat customers. You’re paying for convenience, not for a good dining experience.

Final Thoughts

If you’re in a hurry and just need a quick bite before catching a train, this place might do the job. But if you’re looking for a quality meal or good service, I’d recommend...
