Fitzcarraldo Speakeasy — Restaurant in Vienna

If you're a wannabe Instagram influencer or something akin to that, this is the spot for you. Really cool entry-way through a vending machine full of liquor bottles, which catches the intrigue of passers-by to no end, but that's about the end of the charm.

We had a reso, and were on time for it. They proceeded to seat us and, only then, tell us that they would be seating two other people at the same table. Because you know, everyone loves that so much. But we figured hey, this is a cool way to have a conversation with some randoms. However, after ten minutes they brought over a couple of 20 year old instgram girls who, upon first sight of us, were mortified. They were also, evidently, not aware that this was how it was going to be.

*Stop sitting random people together - nobody wants that and none of us care about your turnover.

So that became a severely awkward few moments (20 minutes). We tried to make small quips and chatter in the hopes that they'd hate our guts slightly less, but that didn't work. One saving grace though - if it weren't for those girls, I sincerely believe we'd have never been able to put in an order. It still wasn't very easy though, as the server only wanted to serve them, and not us. Fair play, because they're cute and we're not. We get it.

So after about 40 minutes, we finally had a drink in hand, and the mortified girls had insisted on being moved elsewhere, so all was well. The drinks were very tasty and the presentation is great, of course. Are they over-priced? Well obviously. You're drinking from a beaker in a vending machine in the 7th, it's going to be expensive.

I should point out that they were trying to seat a 14-top who'd had a reservation, and I can understand that it would be challenging in a place that size, but I'd also wonder why you weren't prepared for your evening like say, I don't know, every other bar in the world? We'd have loved to try another drink because again, they were great, but we could see there was no chance of that happening as A) we're not cute instagram girls, and B) all the staff was completely overwhelmed by this large table.

Great spot for the gram (if that's your thing), nice bathrooms, and really cool decor, with great drinks. I'd love to love this place, they just need to iron out some of these wrinkles and grow up...

Super slick and swank spot. It’s tight and cute so space is limited (act accordingly) make a reservation. If it’s a busy time or night there’s gonna be a time limit which is totally fair. This place is putting on a show and it’s quite complicated and fun presentations so be respectful and let this crew cook. They got everything right, the entrance, the interior ( Colors tile plants fixtures lighting) the menu was great. I wish we had more time. The staff was kind enough to let us in without a reservation as we were there super early on a Saturday. We got a special tequila based drink that came with nachos (loved thank you) and a classic espresso martini which came with a thin chocolate wafer cookie but some wild hybrid martini stem Americano ceramic very cool. Really chill music in the background. This would be a great way to start out date night or impress a date. Seriously make a reservation if you’re able I included a pic of the door but you can figure the rest out I like there was a bit of mystery to it when...

Worst bar experience I’ve ever had. Two people, we had a reservation, got to our table quickly but weren’t served for at least 30 minutes after ordering. The girl even looked mad when I didn’t remember the name of the drink since the order just “got lost” and she had to bring the menu back. She also mentioned that some pineapple taste in a drink was barely felt and it turned out to be the whole cream on top of the drink with that taste, so she clearly didn’t even know the ingredients within drinks. Gave us a shot for free to make up for the lost order, but when I asked what it contains, she tried to avoid it and said it’s just a bar special!! While the time passed they let in extremely many people and the bar was so crowded that you could barely even walk in there, with everyone just taking pictures and videos all over the place. It’s just an overpriced instagram bar! If I could give zero...
