Cafe 7Stern — Restaurant in Vienna

Food is nice here, and the kitchen staff are sweet too, but wow, do the wait staff need some proper training. I used to go for breakfast here and was a very good customer and dealt with the staffs moodiness and rudeness for quite a while. The larger girl with the dark hair who serves for breakfast, and the one with short hair and glasses are despicable. The other staff members are fine, and can be really nice too. But I've suffered through these two being rude in the past, and eventually, something has got to give. As soon as I asked them what the problem was, the larger girl started tearing up, (an absolute masterclass in manipulation), and I was I was treated horribly by both of them and made feel like I was doing something wrong. I am a fair and reasonable person, and I also run successful business so I know it can be difficult to keep everything perfect at all times, but to be gaslighted into feeling like I was bullying the staff or some other such nonsense, is incomprehensible, and absolutely unacceptable. We randomly stopped by Café 7stern with a friend, but unfortunately left rather disappointed. Inside there was a heavy, musty smell — like that of an old building in need of renovation — which already made the atmosphere less inviting.

Service was another weak point. We waited about 15 minutes before a waitress finally came to our table, not to take our order, but to tell us her shift was ending and another waiter would take over. Even after our order was placed, we had to wait again for quite a while, with the same explanation: “shift change.” At least they apologized, but the delays were frustrating.

The menu itself is not very large, with only a modest choice of food and drinks. It seems the café is more of a spot for creative meetups or working on a laptop — during our visit, several people were there with their computers.

Lastly, the restroom door really needs repair, which added to the impression of the place being somewhat neglected.

We visited 7Stern Cafe on 10.08.2024 around 11.00 am and were looking forward to a nice meal. Unfortunately, our experience was far from pleasant. After placing our order, we waited for over 2 hours and we never waited. Despite our patience, the long wait ruined our day and left us feeling extremely disappointed.

We understand that cafes can get busy, but there was no communication from the staff about the delay, nor any effort to make up for it. It would have been much appreciated if we had been informed of the wait time or offered something to compensate for the inconvenience.
