DO NOT TRY THE DEATH BURGER. I'm not kidding. The strongest spicy stuff I have at home is called Painmaker™, a 200K scoville decoction comparable with military grade pepper spray. But alas, this burger is worse.

I should have stoped eating after my lips swole to comedic dimensions and my vision started bluring or after I was urged to lay down the savory, onion-marmelade cheesy goodness of a magnesium fire by my friends, other guests and the extremly forthcomming waiter. I ignored them in a state of mind combining both valor and ignorance in equal measures.

After finishing this meaty madness my vision started bluring, my gravimetric sense started faiding and my guts turning in what I can only assume is some form of exothermic catfood like paste at the time of writing. I was in serious pain.

I was saved by a generous giving of cold milk and full-corn bread by a waitress seemingly well prepared for this contingecy.

After the shaking had stoped and another guest checked my pulse and blood pressure dilligently and prescribed vodka bull as a panacea, I continued my evening pleasantly as always at Issac's, where the guiness runs freely and cheaply, food is delicious (whenever not intentionall poisoned), you can smoke but are not bothered by other people's smoke, where the waiters are schooled in both barkeeping and first aid, and people can safely be stupid enougth to try the Death Burger.

Pub is in a fairly quiet area with outdoor street seating. Booked a table in the nonsmoking area in advance for a world cup match - got one in a perfect spot in front of a tv screen. Place was fairly busy but it still felt like we had lots of space. Beer selection is varied - both pilsner urquell and kozel are served, as well as their own brew larger and guinness. Burgers are tasty. Staff are young and friendly. A party room is available in the basement for private hire. Chilled out pub. Recommended. Only downside, as with many places in Vienna, is the nonsmoking area is not truly nonsmoking as the smoke inevitably comes inside and leaves a mark on your hair and clothes. It's not very noticeable...

Obwohl wir in Fußnähe wohnen, besuchten wir das Pub zum ersten Mal. Das Lokal liegt im 9. Bezirk nicht unweit der Nußdorferstraße in einer ruhigen Seitengasse. Die Anbindung an die Öffis ist dadurch gegeben. Ausgebucht war es an diesem Samstagabend nicht. Wir hatten zwar reserviert. Hätten sicherlich auch so einen Platz ergattert. Zu erwähnen: Es ist schon so eine Art Sports-Bar: Auf Screens wurde an diesem Abend Bayern - Frankfurt übertragen. Nun zum Essen… Bedienung war schon am Tisch obwohl ich noch gar nicht den Mantel ausgezogen hab. Als Getränke gab es bei uns Guinness (€ 5,30) & Snakebite (€ 5,30). Diese wurden schnell serviert. Kurz darauf bestellten wir unsere Hauptspeisen. Meine Frau den Isaacs Toast und ich den Isaacs Burger. Ich bat die Bedienung darum mir diesen ohne die karamellisierten Zwiebeln zu bringen - ich mag Zwiebeln grundsätzlich nicht. Dennoch kam der Burger mit diesen. Egal… Hab die dann eben runtergekratzt. Der Bacon war bei meiner Frau und mir mehr als kross. Tendierte schon sehr ins verbrannte. Schade eigentlich. Gut: Saucen gibt’s immer mit dazu (siehe Foto). Was man wissen muss: Bei den Burgern z.B. sind keine Beilagen dabei. Pommes usw. Die müssen extra geordert werden. Mein Burger (200g) hat € 12,90 gekostet. Die Pommes € 3,20. Die waren wirklich gut. Aber die Portionsgröße war nicht so groß. Der Toast meiner Frau mit Pommes lag bei € 8,90. Das ist wirklich sehr günstig. ihr hat er geschmeckt. Ich fand Ihn durchschnittlich. Als die Bedienung abräumte gab ich den Hinweis mit den Zwiebeln. Man entschuldigte sich aufrichtig für das Missgeschick. Im Nebenraum steht noch ein Dartautomat und ein Wuzzler. Soweit ich gesehen habe… Für Unterhaltung ist also gesorgt. Die Toiletten sind im Keller. Bitte Foto beachten. Man kann vom Gang aus direkt zu den Pissoirs sehen. Da ist keine Tür. Nicht so leiwand. Wir saßen im vorderen Bereich auf Bänken. Es war nicht sehr warm. Ich schiebe das auf die derzeitigen Energiekosten. Wir sparen ja selbst. Also vollkommen verständlich.
