(Edit: they emailed me that “I can already tell you that you will get an email from our lawyer, you are not allowed to rate a restaurant online that you haven't visited!”. Wow. I guess this is a part of how you keep the 5* rating here- by trying to intimidate people.)

Very poor communication, I’m extremely disappointed. I made a reservation for the wrong day. They called me and immediately hang up. And then they charged me a no-show fee of $193.61 on my card. When I saw an email about the reservation being cancelled and the charge on the card, I wrote them an email. They replied accusing me of opening a reminder email yesterday, at the time it was sent (it was unread until I found it today; and I use enterprise Gmail, they shouldn’t receive actual read receipts) and generally they didn’t even try to talk nicely. Weird, they could’ve been less rude, considering I paid $193 and didn’t even get any food. (Can’t judge what the food is like there, but people/management don’t seem to be great.)

Edit: they replied here on Google Maps. We’ve exchanged a number of emails, they didn’t mention offering a voucher. I’d appreciate a voucher; but if they no longer wish to offer it to someone charged $193 because of the situation being described in a review, and then say that publishing the review with a honest description of the situation “shows what kind of a person” I am, this is, well, not the way I expect a respectable business to communicate.

(Furthermore, they claim I didn’t answer their calls. But I answered a call, said “Hello?”, and they hang up. I’ll send them a screenshot via email.)

It’s basically “Before we could do something we showed no intention of doing in our communications, you published the review about the situation, which shows you’re a bad person”. ???

Booking a table for the wrong date is my fault; but accusing someone who you charged $193 who didn’t even eat at your place of being a bad person for publishing a review before they could improve the situation (even though they previously showed no intention of doing this), and then implying they’re not going to improve it because of the honest review, doesn’t look good. I have no idea what the food is like there, but I’d recommend hiring people who can do perspective-taking if you’re talking to people.

They also say “WE are extremely disappointed”. I would really like to interpret it as “we are disappointed Mikhail couldn’t enjoy our food” and not “we are extremely disappointed in Mikhail as a human being”. Customers can be disappointed with businesses; businesses shouldn’t tell customers they’re disappointed with them!

They further told me I’ll be getting an email from their lawyer for this review and asked me how old I am, naming my...

It was a night that will remain for ever in my heart. From the moment the door opened and Larissa welcomed us, we knew that the night was going to be extraordinary. The place was beautiful & cosy. As far as concern, the music...the choices and the volume were just the right ones.

The service was flawless. Larissa stood up on my expectations. I accidently dropped a spoon and immediately i heard her saying to me "do you need another spoon" without her beeing near to the table at that moment. She could our thoughts and needs from our eyes.

Staff was passionate with their creations. You could tell by their explanation before every dish.

I am not going to analyse every dish. From the first plate to the last was a culinary journey. I still have in my mind, and it will remain with me forever, the taste of every single dish. Every first bite was a moment of silence between me and my partner in order to enjoy the incredible mariage of ingredients.

I strongly recommend to combine the food with the "wine pairing" option. It was such a fullfilment.

Larissa has to share with you a funny little story for every wine she brings. Every sip combines perfectly with every bite.

In conclusion, i would definately recommend vegans and non vegans to live...

I have never meant a 5 star review more than this one. Eating at JOLA was hands down one of the best food experiences of my life. The restaurant was cosy and intimate and the staff was incredibly kind and attentive.

The food was expertly prepared with fresh, local ingredients. I have been vegetarian for a long time and have never tasted vegetables so delicious. Each course was different from the rest and each wildly flavorful. The creativity, thoughtfulness, and presentation of each dish was incredible. We chose to do the meal paired with alcohol, and it was well worth it. Each drink was carefully crafted and delicious, no two were the same! 10 courses seemed like a lot, but it ended up being perfect. We left satisfied, but not overly stuffed.

As I said, I have never had such a 5 star experience in my life. JOLA was the highlight of my trip to Austria, and will leave me trying to recreate their incredible dishes for a long time. We want to thank Larissa and the team for an...

My partner reserved a table at Restaurant JOLA for our final meal of our holiday, coinciding with their 2nd Birthday celebration. Despite my partner's oversight about it being a vegan restaurant, it turned out to be a delightful surprise as the food surpassed all expectations. With over 20 years in hospitality and frequent dining experiences in London, I often find myself grappling with tasting menus—balancing price, quality, and portion size can be a challenge, but JOLA pleasantly surprised me. Each course exceeded the last, leaving us thoroughly satisfied. The front of house team at JOLA provided impeccable service—friendly, relaxed, and attentive. Their passion for food and hospitality was evident in every interaction, whether with guests or the kitchen team. An added bonus was the opportunity to chat with some of the chefs as they served certain courses. Regardless of dietary preferences, I wholeheartedly recommend Restaurant JOLA. Here's to many more successful years for them!
