I will rate this based on my latest experience. In terms of food, Plov was very good - 3 out of 5. Shashlik and Samsa I think could have been better. It was grilled properly, however it should be served warmer. A lavash bread served with shashlik would have been a big aura boost. Samsa was good, crispy outside and juicy inside, with a nice tomato sauce. But again, could have been warmer when served. Napoleon and Medovik were quite average, definitely not matching my auntie's level. The service was horrible, with one waiter waiting tables and doing all the bar work. Not enough obviously. You have to wait ~10 minutes after ordering drinks or asking for the bill. Overall, a sharp 2/5 this time with the hope of improvement, will visit once again for the plov and see if some of the things improved as the place becomes...

I visited Samarkand Restaurant yesterday and overall, it was a very pleasant experience. The staff were friendly and polite, and the atmosphere was welcoming.
The Uzbek rice dish (plov) was very tasty and full of flavor. However, I also ordered a chicken kebab (shashlik), and while it was well-grilled on the outside, the inside was unfortunately undercooked and tasted quite raw. It needed to be cooked more thoroughly.
Additionally, I ordered a small portion of plain rice separately, and it was a bit hard to chew – it seemed slightly undercooked and needed more boiling or steaming.
I’m sharing this feedback honestly and with respect, as I believe it can help improve the overall experience. I wish Team Samarkand all the best and hope they continue serving great food with even more...
Read moreFirst of all, a halal place. Second of all, the atmosphere is very much classy and have that Uzbek feel. I've never been to Uzbekistan but it's definitely not Austrian deco. We ordered avocado mozzarella salad, chicken wings and the beef pilaf. Everything taste great, especially the salad - wild taste dancing in my mouth. The chicken wings are so flavourful with more than enough portion for 4 pax. I only wished it could stay cooked for 3 more minutes. The beef pilaf was good too except that after awhile the sweetness of the carrot became a bit too sweet for me. I came during Ramadan, they served dates, chocolates and some sweets as how we should break our fast. Lovely place and the waiter was attentive and kind too. Overall, should...
