Posto eccezionale per provare la vera cucina locale, ambience interessante e personale super cordiale, efficiente e competente.
Exceptional restaurant where to taste the real local cuisine. Cozy ambience and kind, efficient and competent staff will secure an amazing evening for you.
This is what we ordered: Hearty beef soup with viennese meat strudel. The broth was incredible, very savory and rich in flavor. Also the strudel was tasty, and fit really well with the broth Grilled pork filet with chanterelles mushroom sauce. The sauce was to die for, the mushrooms fresh and packed with flavor. The fried potato puree creamy and crunchy at the same time "Tafelspitz" boiled beef with chive, horseradish and apple sauce. The portion was massive, with the beef in it's broth being the protagonist of the plate. The potatoes were ok, the sauces fit really well I recommend 2 wines: Zweigelt exclusive (berry fruit scent that paired really well with our orders), amd Blaufränkisch (strong powerful body, tannic, it would have paired even better with more flavorful meats) Apple strudel for dessert: it was good but we have had better. The filling was really abundant and tasteful. The dough on the outside was unfortunately not crunchy. Plum liquor: amazing sweet and well-rounded flavor
Overall we loved the restaurant and we will definitely visit it again on our next visit to Vienna. The portions are big and the price fair. I highly...

My friend and I recently decided to stop by Wiener Wiazhaus for a quick beer after dinner. To our surprise, we were informed by the staff that the establishment operates as a full restaurant and that ordering drinks alone wasn't permitted. While a few tables around us seemed to be enjoying drinks without food, we felt like we were on the receiving end of a different policy—perhaps a tourist-related bias?
Reluctantly, we ordered french fries and pancakes to comply with the rules. The pancakes were a delightful surprise—fluffy and flavorful, they hit the spot perfectly. However, the french fries left much to be desired. They arrived unseasoned and without any sauces, which felt quite disappointing.
When we inquired about dipping sauces, we requested ketchup. The staff didn’t mention that there would be an additional charge, and even asked if we wanted additional sauces. To our dismay, we discovered a €1.50 fee for the ketchup when the bill arrived. It felt somewhat off-putting, reinforcing the impression that tourists might not be fully welcomed here.
In summary, while the pancakes were a highlight, the overall experience was marred by a lack of attention to detail and a sense of unfriendliness toward tourists. If you’re a traveler, you might want to think twice before visiting...
Read moreWe were not blown away, as other reviewers seem to have been, by the food or place. We had booked and were sat out side on a small table with fairly uncomfortable chairs. The street view is hardly compelling with a rank of giant bins directly across the street. The menu looked enticing with lots of choice but both our meals were frankly disappointing. The main issue was that the huge Viennese fried chicken my wife ordered was red raw in the centre. Raw chicken is a total no no anywhere and to have it served in a restaurant famous for exactly that dish for over 100 years is inexcusable. My pork dish was ok but there was no attempt to dress the dish in anyway and make it look more presentable - just two huge slabs of pork, a mountain of slaw and an igloo of a potato dumpling. I’m not looking for haute cuisine here but if they had just sliced the pork and tidied up the plate it would have helped. The chicken was replaced with an apology but nothing was taken off the bill which surprised us both. All in all, I reckon this place runs off its reputation but really needs to take a fresh approach to how it...
