I find this place very nice, hipster, with a good coffee and generally a nice staff. I had a great experience here when I visited it for the 1st time, unfortunately, today we had a very bad experience and therefore I would like to leave a note for a barista that probably hasn't had the best day. My friend who is facing urological issues and needs to drink a special urological tea for medical reasons, needed to make her kind of tea which is not easy while travelling. While the rest of us ordered coffee, she asked barista in Carl Ludwig Cafe if it would be possible to order only a cup of hot water - she also explained why she needed it. Barista agreed and he didn't even charge us for the water which we found incredibly kind. As it turned out later, he has overheard the reason of why my friend asked for the hot water. (The staff was serving multiple customers at once.) When passing around our table, he noticed my friend used the hot water to prepare the tea. Instead of reacting professionally (this is probably the main point of this feedback) - for example: "Excuse me, I haven't realised that the water was meant to be for the tea preparation. It is not allowed to prepare own drinks in this coffee shop, it will be necessary to pay the price of the tea."- Which would be totally ok, my friend was ready to pay the price of the tea since the beginning. Instead, the barista got emotional and with a big disappointment (or even desperation) commented in front of other customers: "Why have you lied to me? You could have told me that the water was meant to be for the tea, I would be ok with that. But you have lied." This was an incredibly uncomfortable situation - especially because my friend explained why she needed the water when she was ordering it. We tried to explain it but the barista was biased, he assumed the worst and believed it with unshakeable belief. We even asked a friend who speaks German to speak with him, to clarify the situation and to pay for the tea but he kept explaining that my friend should have not lied. This is not ok. Blaming customer in this way is not professional, especially in situation that is easily solvable and which seems to be a simple misunderstanding. The barista not only made us all feel bad but he also made himself feel down. It was a loose-loose situation for both sides. The tea in this coffee shop costs 4,10. The price was paid + my friend left 5 euros on the top. The price of leaving Vienna with a bad taste after a great day we spent in the city - this is uncountable. Message for the barista: your day might have not been the best one, we don't even know what issues you might have been facing but assuming the worst in people is a recipe for an unlucky life and for making other people's days worse. You seem like a kind person and we dare to believe you are even despite we had a bad experience. Every person can be tired or have a bad day, we are all humans. this type of situations can be approached more professionally also this type of situation is easily solvable by paying (no blaming required for this) leaving a space for accepting there might have been a misunderstanding is a great start for any improvement We wish you the...

The place was welcoming since the very start, with a lovely service patiently waiting for us to make a complicated choice, since everything on display looked appealing. They serve fresh roasted coffee, with varieties for both, espresso and filter. Coffee beans are also available for sale.
We had one cortado and one caramel latte. The cortado was pretty decent and well prepared. But the caramel latte was a piece of art. It tasted super balanced and addicting, you can never get enough from it. We also had a piece of an ok homemade cake, and a delicious cruffin which would be worth repeating.
In the end, we decided that the best choice is choosing everything and we tried their puff pastry snail: buttery, slightly crunchy outside, fantastic.
The atmosphere was cozy and for summer time, there is a promising terrace awaiting. Coming...
