We took our family and (mother in law visiting Bahrain) and wanted to show her the Souq and try somthing of Bahrains traditional foods...Very disappointing, food bland, dry with no flavour, 11.700 BDH for a couple of over cooked eggs, 6 olives, heinz baked beans, burnt and over cooked cheese something spring roll and a tea spoonful of jam, honey and mayonnaise, nothing homemade, the foul mademma smelt like vomit I think it was out of date, oh! and some sort of boiled liver dish which is a great dish for breakfast if cooked correctly! and 3 Karak tea. Sorry but this does not represent Bahrain and its traditional dishes nor its reputable hospitality. We will not return nor would we recommend this place. They have very traditional items such as Balaleet: a traditional sweet and savory Bahraini dish. It traditionally consists of vermicelli sweetened with sugar, cardamom, rose water and saffron, served with an egg omelette. Sometimes it comes with sautéed onions or potatoes.
