The place is really nice and cozy. But that's probably all when it comes to the good stuffs about this place.
I've heard a lot of good things about this place before going there. So the disappointment was of that level as well.
Firstly, we ordered "NY Strips" steak medium cooked. They had fixed sides: i) Rice, ii) Mashed Potatoes. No choice for complimentary sauce either.
So the first disappointment came from the sides. The rice didn't taste that good, and was very low in amount. By very low, I mean probably not more than 1.5 tablespoon.
Then there was this mashed potato which tasted just like an ordinary potato mashed with just a few amount of Coriander (Dhonia pata locally). That's it. No extra flavor, or anything. Just a simple "aloo bhorta".
And then there was this sauce. A default complimentary sauce with amount not more than 2 tea-spoons. And if you needed more, you'd have to pay 150 (+vat) for that same amount.
And last but not the list, the main item, the "Ny Strips". We ordered for medium cooked steaks. But once we started to eat, we figured that it was unevenly cooked. Somewhere it were perfect medium. Somewhere it was medium rare, and in some places, specially in the boundaries, it was really hard to chew. The taste was so-so. Not up to the mark for a name like "Tony-Roma's".
So that was the experience I had at this place. This was my first time here. Maybe it was a bad exception, or maybe it was their regular quality, but as I had better experience elsewhere ( such as woodhouse grill in Dhaka) it tasted not up to the mark to me. Hope they improve and keep the standard up to their name.
P.S: If you are planning to pay with credit cards, make sure to keep extra cards. Their card machine seemed faulty. It could have been a network problem as well as internet reachability was quite low...
Read moreFirst of all, I want to warn you again, I'm not a professional food blogger so can't give you a perfect review like most people, of the steak being tender or juicy or anything like that. But still can put a comment though about it tasted good or not 🤔 We took Ribeye and T-bone both steaks. I felt Ribeye was more flavorful and juicy than T-bone, as it felt a bit dry for me. So for me Ribeye definitely tasted better and also to most of my family members but my husband liked the tbone better though. They served the steak with sauce but I didn't like that very much as when you eat the steak with the sauce you barely get the actual taste of the steak. First we told them to make it 50% cooked as they recommended, but all of us felt a little weird as it seemed a bit raw for us, even though many people like meat in this way. So we told the waiter to cook it a bit more to make it 75% cooked. After that, I have to admit, we all liked the flavor and everything and maybe will order steak in this way again in future. Now every steak comes with two sides. We took rice, mashed potatoes and French fries combinedly. Rice was not flavorful at all. Felt like they just added color with plain rice and kinda tasted a bit like Khichuri 😂 the French fries were average, mashed potato was good and everyone liked but I felt like it wasn't completely blended. But the taste was...
Read moreI had the Shirley Temple, mac & cheese, and beef ribs with a quarter BBQ chicken (chicken leg). The server frankly said, imported meat is not available; only local meat was available. Only two of the signature drinks was available (citrus and Shirley Temple). With the ribs & chicken you get two sides: I chose rice and mashed potatoes.
Shirley Temple was less concentrated than I like. There was no coaster for the glass—only a tissue paper.
The mac & cheese here was my first. It was a hearty, energy-filled meal enough to keep one active throughout the day.
The beef ribs were tender and easy to maneuver around. It was the kind of smoky taste I like. The accompanying BBQ chicken was quite sweet. The rice was yellow, probably due to saffron, and the mashed potatoes was creamy.
The service was exceptionally fast.
Comparing with similarly priced restaurants, this is pretty standard for...
