Cantine Antwerp — Restaurant in Antwerp

We recently visited this restaurant in Antwerp, and as tourists from Hamburg, we were really excited to try the food. The dishes were absolutely delicious – everything we ordered was full of flavor and cooked to perfection. However, the experience was completely overshadowed by terrible service, which was a huge disappointment. There were three of us, and we were starving since we hadn't had lunch. We decided to order several tapas, but the waiter almost laughed at us, claiming we were ordering too much. Despite explaining that we were very hungry, he insisted we should order fewer dishes. In the end, we settled on three tapas instead of six, but then we asked for extra bread, and once again, the waiter mocked us and rolled his eyes. To make matters worse, our food arrived before our drinks, and the tapas came in intervals of about 20 minutes. To top it off, we were served the wrong dish. Instead of an apology, we had to wait another 20 minutes for the correct one to arrive. After finishing our main course, we had to ask for the dessert menu, and even then, no one came back to ask us what dessert we wanted. When our drinks were empty, we were never asked if we'd like another round – which we definitely would have! Throughout the meal, it felt like we were completely ignored. Would be the word that describes this place. Me and my sister don't go often to antwerp and were desperate to sit down and have a coffee. After 20minutes of failed attempts we luckily found this place, cantine

Excellent final meal in Antwerp. yesterday, sunday 1.10.23 my husband and I had the luck to experience the marvellously prepared dishes offered at Cantine Antwerp. the fried artichokes, sardines, anchovies, and Nicoise salad with fresh tuna (sushi style quality) were high quality ingredients prepared with both care and skill. Even the bread and olive oil was to suck & lick the fingers for. Thank you to again to all involved. We´d love to retunr the next time we´re in Antwerp not London where we live! and not only because I think I may have left my shirt behind that I´d been using as a jacket!...
