Undoubtedly the most racist experience I’ve encountered in Antwerp.
As we walked by, my wife (who adores plants) stroked the plant that was standing in front of the restaurant as we walked by.
One of the employees that was standing in front of the restaurant (a man probably around 40 - 45 years old) starts attacking my wife verbally because he thought she hid a cigarette bud inside the plant (which is strange because we don’t smoke). Basically starts shouting at her like she’s a dog, ordering her to come back and clean what he thought she dropped in his plant.
A bit confused and clueless, she explained that she didn’t drop anything in the plant but she just touched it as she walked by. He insisted that she dropped a cigarette bud into the plant and starts looking for it as we’re watching this strange thing unfold.
After his extensive search in the plant he realised there was no cigarette bug and he basically made a fool out of himself.
Although he refused to apologise as at that point he was the center of attention and would have to lower his ego in front of everyone.
Choosing a person like this man to be in charge and the face of your business is a very strange decision. This guy would suit great in Auschwitz, not in front of any business that requires interactions with potential customers.
This happened ten days ago. We thought very long about whether or not we should write this review. Simply because we are restaurant owners ourselves and realise the impact such a negative review can have on your business.
Altough we also realised that in order to prevent this from happening again to someone else, the owners should know what his employees are doing and prevent this from...
Read moreWe came to dinner with colleagues and chose this restaurant because one of our former colleagues works here. And of course, she- Margarita served us, everything was clear, fast and with a pleasant smile. The atmosphere in the restaurant is cosy. Before dinner, we chatted casually over delicious snacks and drinks, and after serving the main course, there was silence at the table, each of us enjoyed a delicious dinner. Margarita and the team, we thank you for delightful hospitality, and see you soon!
P.S. The cheeses and some snacks were delivered directly...
Read moreI probably got my expectations too high following the reviews since I found this place to be quite average regarding the food that was served. The dippings were ordinary, some of them really salty (although my partner didn't share the same opinion regarding the amount of salt) and the chicken schnitzel bites a disappointment, no flavour on the chicken or the sauce. The high note was the tuna tataki, for me the only dish that was really worth trying out. The staff was attentive and welcoming, however, the overall experience was...
