Frites were great! So was the cheese croquette. Best sauce is the bernaise in my opinion. Really wanted to try their Yakatori Frites but they were sold out - great excuse to return and try them in the future. The staff are quick to get orders out so the wait time is minimal - we arrived during a rush and got our order less than 5 minutes after placing it. We also had their house lemonade - pineapple and strawberry. They were good if slightly too sweet. The space is on the smaller side so you may have to wait for seating during rush times. However, the frites are served in nice boxes which make it easy to walk/stand and eat. The space is really beautifully designed and the sauces are in very cool dispensers. 10/10 recommend.

This is probably the most famous place to get frites (Belgian fries) in Antwerp. Hence, it can get very busy around lunchtime. I arrived at the right time and managed to secure the last table. They offer a wide range of options, including some specials. I opted for the Thai chicken. The portion was generous, and the fries tasted fresh with just the right amount of salt, giving them a satisfying crunch. The sauce itself was delicious, with a pleasant flavor that wasn't overly spicy. Prices might be on the higher side, especially if you choose a more basic sauce. However, in my case, I felt that the flavor and portion size justified the price

Wat hadden we besteld op 12 juni 2024 omstreeks 12u. 1) Frites Alla Norma met tomatensaus, aubergine, basilicummayonaise en tomatenpoeder voor €16,75. 2) portie friet met 2 sauzen en een Korean chicken burger (kipburger, cheddarkaas, gochujang en Koreaanse gekuide mayonaise) voor €18,50. Een culinaire avontuur met unieke smaken zou het worden onder de noemer van Sergio Herman. Neen, een nachtmerrie waar ik uren nadien bij elke oprisping frituurolie proefde. Menu 1. Bij de fritten vloeide de olie uit de frit bij elke beet. De fritten die onder de saus lagen, waren zo plat als puree geworden, dat je er bijna niet kon inprikken met je vork. De saus van.... smaakte naar... niets. Dan maar een potje mayonaise gehaald om toch wat smaak te hebben. Die smaakte ook naar niets, eigenlijk weer die oliesmaak. Kortom een mooi gepresenteerd smaakloos vegetarisch Menu. Menu 2. Idem als bij Menu 1, fritten waar de olie uitvloeide als je er uw tanden inzette. De kipburger tussen het broodje kon je niet opeten omdat het alle kanten uitschoof en na een tijdje was ook het broodje volledig doorweekt dat het helemaal uit elkaar viel en alle resterende ingrediënten in het doosje vielen. Niet smakelijk om aan te zien en niet gemakkelijk om het daarna verder op te eten zonder bestek en ook geen zicht als je daar aan een kippenschnitzel stukken zit af te bijten. De ingrediënten smaakten naar niets. Het enige dat nog wat smaak had in het menu, was het blaadje salade uit de hamburger. Het enige positieve wat ik van deze lunch onthoud is dat het mooi gepresenteerd was in een leuke fake locatie(maar goed gedaan) onder de naam van Sergio Herman, die veel beter kan dan dat hetgeen wat we vandaag voorgeschoteld kregen. Negatief, veel geld voor een vettig oliesmakende nasmakende lunch die we niet hebben opgegeten en waarbij we genoodzaakt waren om een paar uur later ergens ergens anders iets moesten gaan eten om de honger te stillen. Besluit: eenmaal, maar geen tweemaal! Tot nooit meer in "Frites Atelier". €35,25 zonder drank was teveel geld wat we betaald hadden voor deze culinaire escapade. Mc Donalds had meer smaak gehad voor minder geld.

Misleading advertising!! Their sign says "Review us on Tripavisor or Google and receive a free ice tea". However, they only give an ice tea per order, not per individual review. I went there today with two friends. We ordered two special fries to share. While we were waiting in line, we saw the sign and made two reviews, hoping to get two ice teas. We even told the lady at the till that we were doing two reviews. However, she waited until both reviews were done to tell us that we would only get one ice tea. When we protested and showed her the sign, she just shrugged her shoulders and ignored us. Pity that they have such bad costumer service and such deceptive advertising.

Great fries! Cute place with little seating, but large volume of people visiting! We happened to cross a family with fries, and because they smelled so lovely we asked them where they got their fries from and they pointed us towards atelier! The basil parmesan fries truly were the highlight of our Antwerp trip! Crispy outside, soft inside, covered in parmesan shavings and basil mayonnaise! Yummy!!!! Though slightly on the expensive side, with a plate of fries starting from 6€ with sides. And special fries starting from 7.5€, I would still recommend! I guess fries do hit differently in Belgium! Their sauce station and tissues are too cute!

There were a few choices of sets of fries or you can get the plain ones and choice of a few sauces to go with. We chose the Creamy Carbonara which was about 10 euros. The heat was just right and not too difficult to eat as they gave forks too. We had a pork belly stew topped on our fries with shredded parmesan as a finish. The fries were crisp on the outside but soft on the inside. The meat was soft and savoury and the cheese added to the savouriness. Though pricey, I would recommend to try at least once if you’re in Antwerp. P.S. Apparently you get a free drink when you do a review but I didn’t take one.
