Verso Café — Restaurant in Antwerp

Been here after it recently reopened. Extremely disappointed. The decor is nice and the food was good, but the overall experience was disappointing. We were waiting 15mins for drinks (even after our food was brought to the table). Our sharing food was brought to the table without plates and cutlery (they didn’t even come with these themselves, we had to ask for them after 5mins). After we finished our main course, one of the staff took our plates away and 2mins later a different staff member came and asked if we were ready for our main course. It felt like they were understaffed and the staff there were chaotic!

When we went to pay, they brought the card machine to the table, said “alstublieft” and walked away. No “thank you”, no receipt, no “goodbye”. Very impersonal. Won’t be rushing back and...

Extremely disappointing. The service was non-existent. Only 3 tables were occupied, yet 5 waiters were present — none attentive. They forgot our drinks, we waited over 30 minutes for the food, and the waiters were just hanging out on the terrace while our table was full of empty bottles. The food was average, and they completely ignored our requests and preferences in food. At first they forget what we ordered, then they mixed up the order… This was, by far, the worst dining experience I’ve ever had in Antwerp. I will share this bad experience with all my IG followers. I left feeling so upset, I cried...

Good, but not great. There are other places in the area where you can get a similar ambiance with a much better experience. Quite a few things went wrong: our bottle of wine was shared (by accident I assume) with another table and the servers did not want to acknowledge this. Table was cleared after the starters and the same waiter asked if we needed anything else… he did not check/remember we didn’t have...
