Two weeks ago, we went with a group of six friends to eat at the Bourla. It is a well-known restaurant near the Meir and we had always wanted to go there as a group of friends. Besides, a fortnight ago we had the perfect excuse for it because it was a friend's birthday. So the six of us left for the Bourla with full expectations, which were certainly met.
First of all, there was a very cosy atmosphere in the restaurant. The interior was very nice and warm. There was also quiet music playing which created a relaxed and cosy atmosphere. Our seat in the restaurant was also good. We were seated by the window. So if you are planning to eat something at the Bourla you should ask to be seated by the window.
The steak tartare was delicious. It was exactly the way I wanted it. The fries and coleslaw I got with it were also fine. My friends ate the vol-au-vent and the stew and they were also definitely pleased with their dishes. Those three dishes are highly recommended.
The service was very kind. We were received very hospitably and always at our beck and call. They even had a birthday song played throughout the restaurant for the birthday boy and we loved that. For a small birthday dinner, the Bourla is also definitely a place to be.
So the Bourla is an excellent restaurant. There is a cosy atmosphere in the restaurant and the food there is delicious. Besides, you are also served great. We left the Bourla with a well-filled belly and a smile...
Read moreTo summarize: I wouldn't come here again. At first it was fine when just doing drinks. But when we ordered food I ordered a dish and the waiter specifically told me I'd get a side dish with it. 20 minutes later everyone of my group received their food, except for me. They somehow forgot my dish. All of my group was eating, except for me. 10 minutes later I received my dish too. My food, tongue (yes I like that), wasn't tasty as well. It was fine, but not good. After finishing the drinks they didn't ask for refills either. This being said I can conclude that this isn't the best place to go and I definitely won't go back here.
Edit after getting a response from the owner: after getting this childish, arrogant and unfriendly response from the owner I changed my rating from 2 stars into 1 star and I'll also review this place on TripAdvisor. It's not my fault that I order something and the restaurant forgets to make the food I ordered, neither is it my fault that waiters don't ask for refills. My experience at this place was simply not good because of this and I didn't really like the food. If you brought the food on time I would've still rated you 3 stars, but not after having the experience to start eating while the rest of my group was already finished. Oh, and by the way. See my reviews for other restaurants. You're the one standing out.

Read moreWe didn’t have a reservation, so we couldn’t sit on the terrace, but we were offered a lovely table inside by the window with a view of the terrace—a delightful alternative. The atmosphere inside was charming and cozy.
I ordered the Thai beef salad as my main course, and it was absolutely delicious—one of the best in town. The salad featured a refreshing mix of carrots, cucumber, soya beans, and mint leaves, and the beef was perfectly cooked and wonderfully soft. The sauce had just the right amount of spice, making it even better than some of the Thai restaurants in the area. The portion was generous too.
My partner and kids ordered the vol-au-vent, and we were pleasantly surprised to find kid-sized portions that aren’t even mentioned on the menu—a real bonus for the little ones. The fries were baked to a beautiful golden brown, adding a satisfying crunch to our meal.
The service throughout was excellent, making our dining experience even more enjoyable. I will definitely recommend Restaurant Bourla in Antwerp to anyone looking for great food and a...
