Pieter Pourbus — Restaurant in Bruges

My wife and I visited recently and arrived fairly late without a booking. The staff were extremely friendly and understanding and showed us to a table. We both had a set course menu and ordered different things from the menu - a mixture of fish and meat dishes. Everything we tried was cooked to perfection and accompanying sauces were mouth wateringly delicious. We had - beef carpaccio Scallops, steak with mushroom Sauce and gambas prawns. A lot of thought had gone into the menu as the appetisers were brought out and were not only individually tasty but also helped to cleanse your pallet between courses. The presentation of the food was warming but also professional looking and the service was amazing from the staff.

Located on a quiet street set back from the main square the restaurant was a perfect and peaceful setting and for us a safe haven from the rain.

Absolutely outstanding experience in every senses!

We were a family of 5 calling for a dinner reservation in a very busy weekend in Brussels two weeks before Christmas. And against all our expectations the nice lady on the phone confirmed our reservation. Couldn’t have started any better!…

We arrived at our time, our table was ready and the atmosphere was super cosy. It really felt like arriving home after long walks in the rainy and cold Bruges.

About the food? Well, this restaurant totally changed my perception of Belgium food. Being a Mediterranean family we are quite demanding about having nice, well cooked and healthy food. This restaurant got it all!

I can only say that if you come to Bruges you MUST visit this place.

45 minutes until we received our starter. 1.5 hours to get our main dish. 2 hours and 15 minutes untill we got the dessert which was ice cream. The wait time is unreasonably long and had we knew, we would not have come here. Food is great but not worth this service. I don't recommend this place unless you can carve out 3 hours of your day for a meal. Place was entirely full so they could have accepted less reservations to make customer experience better.
