Avoid at All Costs – Worst Fast Food Experience Ever!

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. This was, hands down, the worst fast food experience I’ve ever had.

Let’s start with the service—or rather, the complete lack of it. The staff barely acknowledged our presence. No greeting, no "thank you," no "goodbye." It felt like we were an inconvenience just for being there.

Now, the food… I don’t even know where to begin. The fries? Absolutely inedible. Soggy, tasteless, and somehow both undercooked and overcooked at the same time. The rest of the meal was just as bad—low-quality ingredients, poorly prepared.

And then there’s the price. Completely outrageous. I’ve had better meals for half the cost. This place is the definition of a tourist trap—overpriced, low-effort, and relying on people making the mistake of walking in once.

Do yourself a favor: stay far, far away. You’ll get better food, better service, and better value literally...

Rude service. To start off together with our food we asked for tap water, to which the waiter replied they only did bottles (2.9€ each). The person who waited on us was rude and clearly did not feel like being there or talking to us. When we were made to pay straight after finishing the meal, we were only given a small receipt from the card machine stating the price of the meal, and not a breakdown of everything ordered and its corresponding prices like they do in literally every other restaurant in the world.

The food itself, was at best average. It is a fast food restaurant which for the quality of the food should frankly be much much cheaper (I was charged 10.9€ for a sausage sandwich with ketchup and a 50cl bottle of water).

While it is still cheaper than many alternatives considering it is in Brussels, I would personally not recommend this...

We tried Belgian Frites – Papy during our visit, and unfortunately, it was a very disappointing experience.

As a tourist, I didn’t know that ketchup and mayo cost extra. The staff didn’t mention the price, they just asked if I wanted them. Only afterward did I realize each one costs €1.60, which is really unreasonable for such small portions. Clear communication would have helped avoid this.

The fries themselves were the worst I’ve ever had — extremely oily and heavy. I’ve tried fries in many places, but these were so bad they made me feel sick. I actually had to go back to my hotel quickly to take medicine for stomach burning.

On top of that, the service was unfriendly and unhelpful, which only made the experience worse.

Overall, everything about this place was disappointing — the food, the service, and the value. I would not...

Excellent frites place that you will run into if you attempt to enter grand place by way of public transit. This frites place sits prominently at an interesting intersection in the old district. Very nice thick cut fries that are golden fried, served in a cone or tray with your choice of one of a dozen interesting sauces. These fries are true to the Belgian fries tradition, you will get an authentic taste of Belgium here. Best bet is frites in a cone with a sauce that you won't find at home. The classic Belgian snack They also have sausages which I tried and were satisfactory. Definitely pay a visit if you are in Belgium. Sitting in their outdoor patio and munching fries in the colourful old district is a vibe The staff here are friendly and willing to put up with questions about their offerings with patience

I was looking for a place where I could try Belgian frites late in the evening, where I could also sit down. I found a few places which didn't have any seating areas, and they also had long queues. There wasn't a queue when I went in here, and it wasn't very busy either. I managed to get a get a good seat and I chose the right time to go in, as it became very busy and crowded during the time that I was there. The staff member who served me was neither friendly nor unfriendly, but at least I received my order fairly quickly. I can't say if the food was very authentic, but I really enjoyed it, and the "samurai sauce" was also delicious 😋. I would return here, and would be happy to try other items on their menu.
