La maison des gaufres — Restaurant in Brussels

It was time to sit down and have a relaxing experience somewhere. This seemed to be the place to do so.

My significant other and I walked inside. We were instantly seated.

From the Café & Boissons Chaudes section, I ordered a Café Lungo for 4.90 €. From the Gaufres Belges - Authentiques section, I got a Gaufre de Bruxelles, which was légère et croustillante for 8.90 €.

The Café Lungo was served with a sweet item. The Café was alright. I added a white sugar cube to it that was in a container at the table. It ended up tasting better. The sweet item was great and even better after I dipped it into the Café. The Gaufre had a pleasant texture and flavor. I enjoyed it. I tried a brown sugar cube from the same container as the white sugar cube and it was good.

The service was solid. I didn’t have any issues.

Overall, it was a bit pricey, but worth it. I would go again someday.

This waffle house looked really upscale, and the way the waffles were displayed was genuinely appealing—beautifully arranged and clearly made to catch the eye. At first glance, it seemed like a great place to treat yourself.

Unfortunately, the actual taste didn’t match the presentation. The waffles were dry and bland, and for the high price, I definitely expected something much better. It felt more style over substance.

Unless you're just buying them for the aesthetic or to post on social media, I wouldn’t recommend this place. If you keep walking a bit farther down the street, you’ll find other waffle spots that are not only more affordable but also serve far better-tasting waffles.

Message to all the tourists: this is not how a real waffle...

There was this black lady getting something delicious from the window, so I stopped here - and I am glad I did! Amazing waffles, best waffles I had in Belgium. I had fresh strawberries and whipped cream, but they had other toppings available, too. I know I am very much like a silly tourist, but I really enjoyed it here, and should I come to Brussels again, I'll definately go here. They have indoor seating, but I didn't see that, as I was just looking at the previous customer (black lady). Best commercial for your waffles is a satisfied customer walking away...
