BioBowls — Restaurant in Brussels

I’ve always been curious about this place whenever I do my grocery shopping at the Bio Market (Marché Bio des Tanneurs), and I finally got the chance to try it.

When we arrived, we were greeted by a girl sitting near the counter, seemingly on her phone. At first it felt a bit unusual, but perhaps it’s just a quiet moment in the day.

The space is surprisingly large, yet only two tables were occupied when we came in. We ordered an americano, a quiche, and the soup of the day — and everything was delicious. I was genuinely impressed by the quality and the very reasonable prices. It’s surprising that more people don’t come here for lunch, because it really is a hidden gem.

I can understand that during slower hours, the staff might not have much to do, and I imagine that’s why things felt a bit low-energy. Still, it’s a lovely spot with a lot of potential. Fantastic, fresh food at great prices. Big portion too! Staff was so kind and friendly. I ate an amazing bowl that was easily made vegan and gluten-free for me; I asked about the dressing, and they made me something vegan on the spot! Halloumi not fried, bread rock hard, salad wilted, tomato butchered, sweet potato fries more like boiled sweet potato in fries shape. Ordered something and paid after which one server said to the other in French they didn’t actually have the ingredients for what we wanted - not that I was told directly but obviously also too late to change our order then and they just brought us something similar…..
