As a skater living in Brussels, this park is very convenient and has the basics you need. A large flat area (slightly slanted, but this doesn't cause too many issues) with a bank along one side. There are a few ledges and rails, a miniramp, and a small pool which isn't really suited for skateboards. In the centre of the park is an island with a tree and some ledges for sitting. This is where many of the skaters keep there stuff while they skate. The park attracts a variety of people from parents with their kids, to some more hardy types looking for a spot to to chill. As it's in the middle of the city, and people come and go all day, it's a good idea not to leave any of you belongings unattended - which is hard if you're trying to skate. Otherwise, the park attracts a large variety of skateboarders, BMXers and rollerskaters of all levels. People are friendly and supportive. Overall, a convenient park with the essentials.

U srvu starog grada - skejt park.

The main skate area is slanted, making it a great place for surfskating in addition to street. The pool is quite tight.

Every place in Brussels has at least two name names. I have seen this skatepark referred to as ‘Skatepark Place de la Chapelle’ and ‘Skatepark des Ursulines’. The park is located on Ursulinenstraat [also known as Rue Des Ursulines]

I photographed this on a very cold day and there was very little activity. Parts of Brussels can appear to be attractive but once one strays from the areas that are visited by tourists the city can be grim and bleak and there is a lot of really unattractive poor quality graffiti [by the way I am interested in street art]. The skatepark is in poor condition but it would appear that it is popular.

If you need to get to the skatepark it is above the (underground) railway station Chapelle, at the end of Boulevard de l'Empereur between the rue des Ursulines and rue de la Chapelle [La Chapelle is the local name for the nearby church, Notre Dame de...
