I often love places that are trying too hard to be cool, but...

No laptop policy -- not a must-buy-X-amount-of-food/drink-per-hour policy -- a no laptop policy during lunch and all day on weekends. Only being open 10-5 I waited nearly two weeks to be available during their open hours. They're going for a vibe, which is fine! But it should be mentioned when you order that you can't pull out a laptop without getting booted. I would have just left my laptop in my bag!!!

A policy that you can't use a table if you don't buy a meal per hour is totally and absolutely fair and reasonable, standard even! I would have bought lunch if I could have stayed. But.. being asked to leave after 25 minutes because you have your laptop out (answering emails and googling horror films that are posted on the walls; not streaming something, like others on their phones) is a bit humiliating. I had gotten a latte and cake slice and planned to get lunch, but was asked to leave, despite receiving my cake and latte "for here." I chugged my drink and asked for a box. If the policy had been visible on ig or fb, I would have gone at a different time and/or gotten my items to go... or not pulled out my laptop! Since the unposted policy isn't about money spent or menu items ordered, you're left wondering. As a queer vegan, I was so excited to go to the last spot on my vegan brussels list, but was booted...

Honestly I never leave comments but I saw a story of Lucifer Lives about some very unfair and misplaced reviews, so, I took the pen. LL is my mandatory stop when I come in Bruxelles. Yes the menu is not plethoric, but YES the quality is here. No it is not ""cheap"" but honestly, it is a café not your daily grocery store. I prefer to go here from time to time but really treat myself knowing that the money I spend goes to a small business with a soul and a heart, and to people that cook to bring happiness. Btw people complain about the prices but spend the same to buy an industrial, tasteless, nutrional sewer of a cake in Starbucks..

Owners are friendly and nice, they will answer your questions with patience, even in rushtime. If you seek to stuff your mouth with decadent, generously sized vegan pastries made with love, sip very nice coffee or have a comfy breakfast/brunch in a metal/pulp ambiance, it is the place. There are more elevated vegan bakeries and healthiest places to eat, but there is only one Lucifer Lives and you...

This vegan place has few selection for lunch like 3 options and expensive €18 a plate. Ordering for food is done by yourself at the counter, no waiter service that comes to your table to take your order. The food wasn't terrible but I cannot say I enjoyed it (dry bagel and ketchup for taste no special sauce). I stayed outside (basically on the street the new concept today to enlarge the restaurant space) as the inside smelled like sweat (maybe it happened to have someone smelly... I don't know.)

Reply to owner comment; I cannot be the one supporting such concept I work hard for my money too. I don't go to starbucks or burger king either but if I am paying that amount of money I would find another restaurant. The "eat on the street concept" is not just you (Obviously don't take it personally) but many small business are opting for it but clients usually find simple uncomfortable furniture unfortunately. The sweat odor wasn't just me who smelled it, I don't want to be mean but I write 100%...

I've come here since the opening and have never been disappointed. The chai latte, hot or cold, is the best I've had in Brussels and almost every time I can't help picking it even when I want to try something else. The cakes are always very tasty and the slices generous. The salty caramel cake is my favorite, but I still think about the raspberry meringue tart which I miss a lot because the raspberry part reminded me of my late grandma's raspberry pudding. I can rarely afford the brunches and some of the lunches, but those I tasted when I could were delicious and generously served (such as the carbonnade and bourguignon). I'm also obsessed with the américain préparé sandwich. The staff is super friendly and I always feel safe there. I can't come as often as I'd like to anymore but it's always a pleasure making the trip there and sitting down to write with a nice latte and cake. :)

Lucifer Lives is a super funky, horror movie themed vegan cafe with all the spooky vibes. 🖤Besides the spooky decor (which stole my heart!) this place is serving some of the BEST vegan food I had while in Belgium! We stopped in for breakfast & the staff were welcoming. The server was also English friendly for us. We picked the breakfast sandwich - which was SO good! The bun itself appeared to be freshly made, a generous amount of seitan, veggies & sauce made this such a delicious bite! After enjoying our sandwich we eyed up their amazing dessert case which the strawberry crème croissant was calling. It was massive & plenty for 2 people to share. The croissant was flakey, sweet & the crème filling was to die for. We enjoyed our delicious vegan food here, loved the spooky vibes & rocked out with the music. If I am ever back in Belgium, Lucifer visit is a MUST!

Lucifer Lives has a high review on Google Maps and on Happy Cow. When it comes to food it only serves three vegan options, copying non-vegan options :bagel, English Breakfast, and burrito. We had the English Breakfast one, as well as coffee. The “dirty vegan” food concept intended to taste like regular fast food/comfort food. It didn’t. It was surprising that the place did not use or have any fresh non cooked vegetables. No healthy food/salad options at all were on the menu/available as vegan option. Menu also had some pies/dessert options, all vegan cakes. We didn’t finish the coffee (Long Black Americano) as they seemed dull and didn’t taste like fresh grounded quality, with limited flavour. At the time of our visit it was a very busy place, relative long time before serving. Cozy environment, with movie posters.
