We were really looking forward to trying Lazy Bear, but sadly our brunch experience was pretty disappointing. It took over 50 minutes for our food to arrive after we ordered it, and none of the staff came over to acknowledge this delay or give us an update. It was a long wait for our two coffees, as well.
When the food finally arrived, we were quite disappointed, especially given the prices. Firstly, we were surprised to discover that the eggs benedict was actually just a big salad.
Secondly, the avocado toast with poached egg and hollandaise (€17.50!) was unpleasant. The small blob of hollandaise sauce was pale grey and watery, which was really off-putting. The mashed avocado lacked flavour, and it seemed like there was some cross-contamination in the side salad, as it had a strong smoked salmon taste. As a vegetarian, that was particularly unpleasant.
The pancakes at least were quite nice. But it wasn't enough to make up for the poor experience. We had high hopes, but left feeling like the staff didn't really care about the experience, and that the food should have been...
Read moreEnquired about ingredients of sauce for allergy concerns, was told its a secret and wouldn't tell me. I then opted for no sauce on my Burger only to be told they are not serving Burgers and have no Salads.
I opted for just a Coffee, only to be told they have no Milk only oat or coconut.
I gave up...... I had some fries (at least they had those).
My partners food arrived and reviewed the food as very nice but no napkins were provided. Before we left we went to the toilet only to find NO Toilet paper and only cold water to wash your hands, on top of that the Hand Drier wasn't working.
Was so disappointed as i had read some really good reviews but I won't be returning.
As for the atmosphere it was very tightly packed and for someone who's almost 2mtrs tall it was horrible. Constantly having to move so someone can get a child's pushchair past or having your coat walked all over on the back...
Read moreThe staff is rude and does not create a nice atmosphere for coffee and chats. We went there on a Sunday for a coffee around 4:20 pm and to our surprise we were informed that we are not allowed to sit down and only coffee 'to go' is possible because they close at 5 although the time opening time on G Maps is till 8 pm. The waitress in particular was rude and would mumble and puff in French towards her colleague at pur request to sit down. Felt very unwelcomed and disregarded so I won't come back and I would not recommend it as a nice atmosphere to have a...
