There are 3 Amadeus restaurants in Ghent and this one is located just nearby the landmarks and the touristic area of Ghent. I dined here two times and so far I have nothing but positive experiences. The staffs are friendly, the serving is fast and food is good. This is all you can eat rib house but you can order something else even thought it’s quite limited it’s worth dining here. The atmosphere and the interior of the restaurant are so lovely even the music and the outfit of the waiters/waitress make me feel like I am back in the vintage time. The price is also good but expected more for Irish coffee but dame blanche ice cream was tasty. First time I dined in this restaurant I made a reservation and dined in second floor (it gave a homey vibe and it has big space). Second time I didn’t made any reservations but they were very quick to setup a table for you and it was downstairs (pretty one with the stain glass). Either way, I enjoyed dining in both area! Authentic vibe are the best for sure.

If you’re a fan of ribs, this place is surely for you. I have been here three times in my short stay of a month in Gent and every time the quality and service of food is consistent. The inner decoration is straight out of The Godfather vibes. The most famous platter is definitely the open ribs which are always well cooked and marinated with a delicious sweet sauce. The baked potato with the “secret” sauce on the side is the most delicious potato I’ve ever had. A great suggestion by the waiter of Leffe blonde beer to go along the meal is just right. It is also not expensive at all with a beer and open ribs order costing around 25€ depending on your beer. Be prepared to either not find a table by arriving on the spot, having to reserve a table or walking around for 20min until you find a table! This place is super popular and often full.

The interior of this restaurant is beautiful, but the atmosphere still was ruined by the awful staff! Came to take our order before we got a menu, rushed us to order, one mixed Grill and one ribs ordered, the mixed grill should have been a well done steak but came out rare, the grilled chicken was heavily spiced with curry powder but still tasted rancid, an unreasonably long wait for a well done steak later and we got a lump of charcoal in its place. This would have been somewhat bearable if the service hadn’t been ever worse than the food, trying to catch the attention as they fly about ignoring their customers dishing out refills of the ribs which are mediocre at best, they trade on the location and the beautiful old building. We managed to get a refund on the inedible plate after almost a full argument in the middle of the restaurant. Outside of my own experience, the frantic energy of the staff makes you feel uncomfortable and unwelcome.

It’s always amazing to be in Gent. After sightseeing food is key. This is a place to be if you want to eat all you can eat Spareribs. The ribs were okay. There is an constant refill. The metal box is a good idea for the rib bones. Unique. The Waterzooi is delicious. The cooked potato is delicious. The chef could’ve add some more local vegetable in it. The portion can be somewhat larger. Make sure you have a reservation or there is a chance you’ll not get a seat. We just go and see if we can get a seat. There will be a lot off people coming in and going out. The atmosphere can feel a little hasty. Just enjoy. Once you’re seated, eat at your own pace. Don’t feel rushed. I have to mention that some sparerib are dry and overcooked. The quality is not constant. Overall a good experience. We saw other dishes on the menu we want to try. Something for next time.

We made a reservation for 3 people and then they put us in the corner of the restaurants for the smallest table possible,my friend was almost sitting at the neighbours table?! Then the service was very very bad. They are not nice and they don’t have menus in english. And since the price is very high, they should at least have that. We ordered steak and ribs. Steak was SUPER SUPER GOOD! But ribs (they are famous because of them) were really bad, dry and not soft at all. We also ordered greek salad - i am not sure they have ever visited Greece because this was not even close to Greek salad. And beside everything, there was a big trash bin behind my friends back (picture attached)?! Restaurans in our country would be closed by sanitary inspection because of that. So to sum up, if you go here, order steak, because it is really good :)

Amazing ribs place The main dish is ribs, but on their menu they have other meat options. The dish is accompanied by a roasted potato with cheese that is very rich and is very well prepared. The ribs are excellent, very filling and very well prepared. In addition, you have the possibility of opting for "free ribs" where you eat as much as you can. The draft beer is very good and the prices are very convenient. Both the attention and the setting of the place are very detailed, the place is like an old bookstore and its walls are full of old books. The waiters are very friendly and are attentive all the time so that nothing is missing at the table
