Lujain Resto — Restaurant in Ghent

They served the food very laye and they even didn't apologize just said we are busy but there was just one customer other than us. And they did not bring all our orders, but we were so frustrated and h7ngry that we did not care. The poulet skiver was 17 euro bit almost noth8ng in the plate my friend had ordered chicken shaverma for less than ten euros but it was like 2 or 3 times bigger than the skiver. It was warm with no air conditioning when we said it is too warm they just point a fan from other client to us! (And they just reset the fan to themselves just after the server left. So we asked for a fan again, and they brought a new fan. The food quality was normal, not impressive, just there was a lot of garlic in the shaverma, which usually means it is old and they have used garlic to cover the smell but I cannot be sure about it. Also, they did not bring our drinks, nor did they say we had to take them by ourselves.

In general, it was one of the worst restaurants...

So to say I was disappointed with the food served is an understatement. Not only was the chicken shawarma somewhat dry, but I was taken aback by the spice mix which includes a hint of curry spice. I personally don’t think curry spice has any place in a shawarma dish, but there we are. The staff were friendly. But beware if you sit anywhere near the main door in cold weather: the door needs a proper push to close, and often guests would just walk in and leave the door open, probably thinking it would close on its own....

An amazing authentic Syrian restaurant. Delicious food and very friendly owners with an outstanding atmosphere that makes you feel at home. We had the Lujain grill mix, kebbeh, cheese borak and fattoosh, the meat is very tender and seasoned to perfection, the borak is deliciously crispy, the kebbeh is very authentic, the fattoosh is very fresh. Simply the best Syrian food I had in years. The friendliness of the owners and the staff takes the whole experience to another level. What else can you wish for.
