My coffee and my husband’s chai latte were SUPER DELICIOUS. Probably some of the nicest coffee we had in Belgium. Very tasty. We also got a waffle with whipped cream. After we paid I realized my husband didn’t add the seasonal fruit so I asked the server if we could get a side of fruit too and even though it felt like a simple request, the server seemed annoyed saying they needed to check. In the end, they were able to get us raspberries on the side which the actual barista rang us up for instead of the server for some reason. The raspberries were delicious tho! The waffle was pretty tasty too. I’ll add that it’s a small place with not a lot of seating. We ended up just standing at a small table near the register. We noticed solo people sitting at round tables of 4 chairs and watched others sit down not with that other person. So, it’s not strange to share tables with strangers. We’re from the USA where that sort of thing doesn’t happen and is considered kinda rude. So PSA to...

Miserable staff, average coffee, dingy lighting. The coffee menu looks good, there's clearly pride in what they offer but unfortunately our experience was poor. The staff were rude - we felt completely unwelcome and we struggled a little to translate the menu which seemed to add to our waitress's irritation. There are lots of different coffee options with detailed descriptions that we'd not seen before so a bit of help would have been nice. We noticed other customers simply being ignored. The decor is very retro which is maybe quite cool in some ways but actually the lighting is so dim and everything is dark reddy-brown that it was rather depressing. The one positive is that it was cheap in an otherwise quite pricey city. The coffee itself wasn't great but that maybe that's my personal taste. Just like the coffee, my experience at this place was...

As a true coffee lover, walking past and looking in the window, I had such high hopes for Mokabon. We walked in and there was not really any clear direction on where to order or how things worked. We found a table and sat down, waiting for some acknowledgment or direction. There was only 1 person doing table service orders, taking payment, bagging coffee and making coffee as someone else went break. We ordered a hot chocolate and flat white. Hot choc was ok. Coffee however…. Was bitter & burnt. I had 2-3 sips and had to leave it. When I paid and asked why I didn’t finish it, I was told it was a medium roast & that was why it had a harsh taste. This was not the case.. it was straight up burnt. Unfortunately, I don’t think the person who made the coffee has any actual barista skills. Very unfortunate. Hope it was a bad day or there is...

The best coffee in Gent. If you're a coffee lover visiting Ghent, you absolutely must stop by this charming little café. Tucked away from the busy streets, it may be small in size, but it more than makes up for it with character and quality. The interior feels like a warm step back in time — cozy and nostalgic, with a vintage 1960s vibe that adds to its unique charm. But let’s talk about the real star here: the coffee. Simply put, it’s the best in town. Rich, smooth, and perfectly brewed, every cup is clearly made with care and passion. Whether you’re grabbing a quick espresso or sitting down for a relaxed cappuccino, you won’t be disappointed. Don’t let the size fool you — this place delivers big on taste and atmosphere. Highly recommended!
