The ambiance of the restaraunt was fine but they were so understaffed we barely got fed.
Madonna, the manager, and I corresponded via email about merging my two reservations and that one of my party had food allergies. Madonna confirmed this would be done. When my party got there the tables were NOT together and the food was NOT set up for the ONE person with the allergies. Eunas, the server, was able to arrange a vegetarian plate for my ONE party member but he ended up only being served 2 courses with the menu.
This evening was a SIGNIFICANT disappointment. It was understood in this beautiful evenining that they were immensely understaffed. We arrived at 8pm and only got our third course at 12:10am. There was a party across from us dancing on the table and chairs and swinging from the tree in the dining room. There was another party next to us where the man was dancing indecently exposed with his pants down around his thighs. This ruined our experience as well as every other patron in every room.
During the meal, when bread was brought out, there was not enough for each person. All of these issues were brought to the servers attention but he was overwhelmed. It was 1:45am and we had not gotten our main course so we told our waiter and the bar manager we wanted a refund and we were leaving.
I flew my team from America to Brussels to spend New Years Eve at Coco because I had eaten here before. I paid 1760 euro total, 160 euro per person x 11 people. We never got our two final courses.
I requested and have not been provided a refund for my money.
I hope they address this accordingly.
I want to state again that Eunas, the server, did everything he could to take care of us but the restaraunt itself and the rest of the...
Read moreThe new ‘matuvu’ place in town… not the place to go for good food or service. Reservation at 20:30. Received our cocktails only at 21:30… and were rudely told that we needed to understand that fhey only had 1 person to make cocktails and that we ordered 8 different drinks (?!). I mean… look at the size of this place. And only 1 person able to make cocktails? When they finally arrived, the waiter had already served the wine while we had explicitely told him twice to wait until after drinks and to drink wine with our food. The cocktails… 3/8 were wrong so by the time they brought the 3 correct ones, our food was already served. By now it was 22:00!!! Starters were all good except for uninspired fois gras bit carpaccio was delicious, cheviche nice and fresh and tuna tartare well seasoned. Then we had to wait another hour and a half for mains… 7 were served and mine was missing and so were all the sides. It took them another 25 minutes to bring my chicken supreme with morilles sauce (I counted 1 morille) and the truffle mash and vegetables were ice cold! The fries for the others were still missing and arrived only after we all finished eating, so the veal, ribeye etc… they just had meat without frites. The burgers were burned and totally dry and the coco sause was pure vinagre. Finished dinner (did not even have dessert) after midnight. Not acceptable if you ask me!
Service rude and total chaos. Beautiful place … fake cherry blossom trees a little tacky but ok. Lots of young people with probably low expectations. Seems popular for birthdays… we only counted 21 times the happy birthday aong 🤣 Would we go back? Never… But concept is not bad as few places tjat have dinner and music in Brussels. Great potential but need to step it...
Read moreBeautiful interior but it was not worth the price at all. The staff was unprofessional, the menu was very limited and many things were not available. The cocktails were not that tasty and well made. It is obvious that the staff is easily overwhelmed and they are not organized as many drinks were left on the bar for more than 15min before being served. And drinks of people who left were still on the bar in front of the other clients. The food was very bland and not tasty for the price and quantities are small for the price. Waiters were taking orders on small worn out and used papers with pens while the place is trying to showcase a "modern' and "digital" new vibe. If you come for drinks , you can't put your coat in the cloakroom but if you come to eat then you can use it which I find very disrespectful. You can't eat if you go for drinks as you can only sit in small tables around the bar, if you want to eat you have to book a table in advance. Music is lounge style and no one is dancing, it's just ambiance . We had to ask the waiters to come take our orders because for 30min no one came and they only accept one card payment so if you are a group beware of this. They refuse separate payment which I find very crazy as not everyone can afford to pay...
