A friend suggested that I try L'Ultime Atome while I was visiting Brussels. I was not disappointed. The restaurant is located in a residential area of Brussels away from the chaos of the tourists. It has an outside eating area and a comfortable indoor dining room. I went for dinner and found a menu with a large selection of items, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner dishes. I selected Carbonades Flamande, Belgium stew that came with fries and a side salad. It was excellent, with superb portions, tasty and freshly prepared. To accompany the meal I selected a Trappist beer. To end the meal, I selected a tart aux pommes [apples tart] served with ice cream. It was an excellent dessert. Finally, I ordered a coffee that came a small chocolate bar. The restaurant was comfy, with a welcoming atmosphere and very attentive staff. While the service was slow, it was not problematic. It allowed me to enjoy the meal with no rush. The waitress was very helpful, and the food was superb at a great price point with superb portions. If you are visiting Brussels, it is worth exploring. I will definitely return to try some of the other menu items.

Lessons learned — never walk into a restaurant without reading the reviews. Food was mediocre. We ordered house wine, beef carpaccio, salmon tartare, and mussels with garlic cream. Wine was good; beef carpaccio was alright but it was a bit dry and bland; salmon tartare was a huge disappointment (I’d say the worst dish we’ve ever had in Brussels) — it was nothing more than chopped raw fish; mussels was okay but at best average. Also, since the restaurant didn’t bother to manage the serving time, we got our two starters and the pot of mussels all at once. So when we got to the mussels, what’s on top was already a bit cold. Service was terrible. As some reviews pointed out, the waiting staff ignored customers big time. We waited for about ten minutes to finally get a waiter’s attention to take our order. After the meal, we again waited for a long time just to get the waiting staff to notice us. (Btw, we sat right in front of the entrance.) And when one waitress finally took a glance, she turned away and pretended she didn’t see us! 🙄 It’s funny how the house wine was the only good in this dining experience.

IN SHORT. Brunch? No thanks LOCATION. This brasserie is located in the beautiful area of San Boniface: characteristic, in the atmosphere, in Ixelles. Very spacious environment but a bit neglected. BRUNCH. The brunch formula is the novelty (« Atomic brunch »). I tried it for the first time this Sunday. Reservation at 13:30. When we arrived, unfortunately, the hot food was already all cold. Many of the desserts were « melted ». Overall, therefore, I only ate a hot omelette (made on the spot). The offer is poor in the breakfast part. The « savoury » part perhaps needs to be reviewed (food not very well prepared and an unappealing selection). However, the worst thing was arriving at 13:30 and finding the buffet in the state it was in. STAFF. Helpful, kind, fast service. PRICE. 30 euros (drinks not included). Not adequate for the offer. brussels has a lot of brunches around the city so the comparison is inevitable. I wouldn't go back to this brassiere for brunch. Dogs allowed

Waited 20mins for drinks. Table of 10, 6 of which received their brunch after 45mins or ordering (received the patisserie before their meal), waited for another 30mins for the other 3 plates (2 rare steaks and one carbonnade). Asked a waiter (who was not our main waiter but still a part of the “team”) for an update. This waiter (a 25-35 year old tall man with a beard) then ironically asked us if he was our waiter and if it was his fault (completely throwing his colleague under the bus) and spoke to us extremely rudely. Having worked in hospitality myself I find this ridiculous. 1. He seems to think he’s better than his colleagues and blames them rather than apologising and trying to find a solution. 2. Talking back to a customer is the most basic no go. “The customer is always right “is a phrase that is globally known for people who work in hospitality regardless of how much you don’t like the customer .The food was good but better communication about waiting time and not having a unprofessional member of staff would’ve been good. Will not be returning that’s for sure and if I was the management I would seriously reconsider keeping the male employee on the team as he brings little to no value to your restaurant. The only beacon of hope was the last woman we spoke with (recently employed) who understood how to speak to clients and did her best to resolve the issue and compensated us for the...

Just to start this review, this restaurant deserves zero stars. One star is actually too much of a rating for this type of restaurant. We weren't even escorted in, they pointed to us which table we could take. Seats were disgusting, they didn't even bother to clean it. We thought we were going to be given menus, after a few minutes we noticed that no one is coming to our table to give us the menus. Nothing is automatic, everything has to be asked. Our expectations isn't sky high, we just want what's expected of a restaurant. Furthermore, after looking through the menu, we were ready to order our food. In total, we asked and tried to stop other waiter/waitresses 3 times to take our order but to no avail they kept telling us someone is coming or "I'm not able to take your order". At this point we were really frustrated as we saw other tables getting attended to when they came to the restaurant after us which drew the line for me and decided as a group to leave. If you are tourists especially from Asia, do not even consider going to this restaurant as you will definitely feel discriminated. 0/5 Stars, never have I walked out on a restaurant before.

Really lucky we left, as next door there is an amazing restaurant called Le Clan des Belges. Great belgian food and most importantly...

I’d eaten here several times some years ago, so I was looking forward to trying it out again just recently. I made the big mistake of ordering the “fish and chips”, and when it arrived I thought, this can’t possibly be it for the price I’m paying. Eventually I found the ridiculously small portion of fish buried under some fried potatoes. They were not even proper chips (“frites”), but a meagre portion of strangely cut pieces of potato that weren’t as good. Presumably the fish comes straight out of the deep freeze, and possibly the potatoes too. An absolute rip-off to charge over 20 euros for that. It is shameful that they serve that rubbish up for that price and think it’s OK. Be warned: order it, and you’ll regret it!

We were seated near the bar, which was noisy, as the staff were quite happy to, for example, gather together and clatter empty bottles around us as if we weren’t there, which didn’t exactly add to the atmosphere and put our nerves on edge.

The service was also apathetic - it took a long time for anyone to take our order, and the vibe I got was they couldn’t really be bothered and we were more of an inconvenience than paying customers deserving of some service.

Overall a huge disappointment. Suffice it to say, I won’t be...
