MUST Restaurant & Wine Bar — Restaurant in Ixelles - Elsene

I had high expectations for this place but I was rather disappointed. Service was pretty poor with generally inattentive waiters. And when I finally got the wine I had ordered (my first choice was not available anymore..) the waiter didn’t offer me the chance to taste but instead topped up the glass of my companion who was drinking another wine as an aperitif! And he didn’t pour my glass. No excuses offered for this blatant mistake.. The wine list is rather limited and the food menu seems to consist mainly of variations of carpaccio de boeuf (Holstein) and tartare de boeuf. The linguine with fresh lobster that I chose had just the tail of a tiny lobster (or was it actually a langouste..?) sitting on the pasta. The latter was floating in what was supposed to be a lobster bisque but which tasted more like a watery tomato sauce perfumed with lobster scent. And this for €52! On the positive side, the chocolate fondant for dessert was really delicious and the interior of the place is...

I’ll start with the bathroom which was A+. This was really nice to see especially in Brussels. As a whole, other than weak wine pours by the server, overall service was good. We started with the Gyoza, which was excellent. The main dishes and dessert, however, were anti-climatic and flavorless. We ordered the Seabass and vegetables as well as the lobster tagliatelle. For dessert, we ordered the chocolate fondant, which came out cool not even room temperature. Almost like it was taken from refrigerator a few mins before serving. Overall, we felt as though this restaurant was striving for something as the food had great presentation unfortunately it was lacking...
