Nestled in the heart of Brussels, Gigi Amor is a true gem that embodies the spirit of Italian culinary artistry with a modern twist. From the moment we stepped inside, we were greeted by a warm and welcoming atmosphere, matched only by the charm and attentiveness of the staff.
The menu at Gigi Amor is a delight, offering a selection of dishes that cater to every palate. We highly recommend starting with the Fritto Misto (9 pièces) (€12)—a stunning selection of artisanal Italian fritters, perfectly crispy and bursting with flavor. For the main course, the standout for us was the Gigi Amor pizza (€15), featuring a luscious beetroot cream, mozzarella fior di latte, spicy salami, nduja, roasted sweet potatoes, and fresh basil—a harmonious combination that both surprised and satisfied our tastebuds.
While these dishes stole the show, we’re confident that anything on the menu will leave you equally impressed. Each plate showcases the care and creativity of the kitchen, ensuring a dining experience to remember.
By happy coincidence, we were seated with a lovely view of the bar. The bartenders masterfully crafted drinks that were as visually appealing as they were flavorful. Every cocktail was perfectly balanced, adding an extra layer of indulgence to the evening.
For wine lovers, we recommend exploring the bio wine options, particularly if you enjoy fruity and vibrant flavors. They pair wonderfully with the dishes and enhance the overall experience.
Gigi Amor is more than a restaurant—it’s an experience. Whether you’re there for a casual meal or a special occasion, you’re sure to leave with a full heart and an even fuller stomach. We can’t...
Read moreThe place is open between midday and midnight during Saturday. We have arrived at 6 pm, we were only able to order our starters at 6:30 pm because the waitresses and the cook were having their espresso at the bar. The starters were OK except for the tomato next to the burrata as they were pickled with onion. We asked for some bread and instead of getting fresh bread, we got the cubes as in the picture which were half dry. As main, we ordered two pizza and two pasta, the pizza with mortadella had a weird sauce on top which I believe had boiled egg in it. The pasta with muscles was really good but the amatriciana pasta was so-so, since the sauce was a bit sour as I believe it was made from dried or pickled tomatoes instead of fresh ones. Once the dinner was finished, no one came to pick up our plates or asked whether we wanted any dessert. After having waited 45 minutes, we had asked for the bill but they said we had to do a bank transfer because their POS machine was not working due to lack of Wi-Fi. I didn’t understand why they weren’t using their 5G as a hotspot. We wanted to bring the remaining pasta as a doggy bag. They initially claimed that they didn’t have anything to put it inside. After insisting, they found an aluminium box. The decor is really nice and the place has potential but I wonder if I would go back. We have paid 50 Euro per person for a...
Read moreWe ordered the food and it came more than an hour later. Bear in mind that the restaurant was not full when we ordered. Once we ordered, we saw people coming in and everyone got their food except us.
The server boy was not nice at all and was really rude. The atmosphere was also not good. We sat in front of dirty towels.
As for food we ordered the margarita with extra fungi and fungi looked disgusting. The second pizza was Gigi amor and it wasn’t too bad but I didn’t like it so it depends on the preference. We also ordered pasta and it wasn’t cooked properly. It wasn’t even al-dente and was completely uncooked.
We also ordered assortment of fried appetisers and it was okay but wouldn’t recommend as it was an odd mix.
We waited too long, the price wasn’t cheap and the food was not good at all. Do not recommend
Edit to the review as I can’t respond to the restaurant:
There was a gap between the arrival of the guests but one guest put an order in advance about 10 minutes before the second guest arrived. From the moment the first guest put in the order, we got the food more than an hour later. So the waiting time was indeed extremely long (absolutely everyone around us got their food before us as well although around 4 tables sat down and ordered after the second guest arrived)
As for the pasta, it was not al dente, it...
