As a dedicated patron of Otacos Leuven who appreciates the art of crafting exceptional otacos, I've been fortunate to witness the passion and dedication of one of the chefs, whose name I'm regrettably unaware of. Hailing from Africa, his commanding presence and his strong vocal, delivery belie a remarkable talent in the kitchen. His meticulous attention to detail ensures that every order is executed with precision and flair, elevating the dining experience to new heights.
However, other chefs amidst the culinary excellence lies a disconcerting reality. The pervasive disregard for basic hygiene standards poses a significant risk to customer safety. I've observed instances where the cook handles money and operates the computer system without adhering to proper handwashing protocols. Such lapses in cleanliness not only compromise food safety but also betray a lack of regard for customer well-being.
Despite bringing these concerns to the attention of management, it's disheartening to see little to no action taken. Another chef, whose efforts pale in comparison to the aforementioned individual, continues to operate without consequence. This failure to address feedback and enforce necessary improvements reflects poorly on the restaurant's commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction.
Furthermore, there's a regrettable inconsistency in service quality, exemplified by this other chef. Despite his undeniable culinary prowess, his confrontational demeanor and reluctance to accommodate customer requests for additional toppings detract from the overall dining experience. It's disappointing to see such potential overshadowed by behavior that fosters an unwelcoming atmosphere.
In light of these observations, I implore the management to prioritize the implementation of stringent hygiene protocols and to address any instances of unprofessional conduct among staff members. The success of Otacos Leuven hinges not only on the excellence of its cuisine but also on its commitment to ensuring a safe and enjoyable dining environment for all patrons.
Until such improvements are made, I urge prospective diners to exercise caution and explore alternative dining options. Your health and satisfaction should never be compromised in pursuit of a...
Read moreMy boyfriend came to visit after a very long time and we were walking around in the city. He saw a poster about this special mac and cheese with chicken tender bowl at o tacos and ever since then we've been waiting to get it (since it was closed at the time). So the next day we went there but it was out of stock. Which is my first complaint. Why would you put up a banner if it's out of stock??? So then we checked again by calling a few days later and asked if it was in stock again. They said yes. We were overjoyed. Arriving at the place again they took our orders. The service was horrible. I've had gas stations with better service. First of all there was very loud, obnoxious music playing. And the workers were just lazying around. We had called earlier placing an order but apparently none of them had any idea what I was talking about. It didn't help that they didn't speak any dutch, even though we live in the flemish part of Belgium and the menu was in dutch. It seemed these guys only knew french but even then they had a lot of difficulty understanding me (who knows decent french). So we tried English. Apparently that was too hard as well. Now they finally got our order and surprisingly didn't have to wait long, but ohh surprise, they did not give us the mac and cheese bowl we asked for. Instead of mac and cheese they gave us a bowl with fries. I will say the food was still good although the service was again terrible. I remember asking the guy at the counter for a fork and he did not know what fork was. I feel like you can't be a functioning member of society if you do not know what a fork is!!! Anyways despite this traumatising experience we decided to give o tacos another chance. Because we were still craving the mac and cheese we went there again the next day and luckily the service was 10 times better this time with no obnoxious music and staff that spoke dutch and were way more competent. They let us know the mac and cheese bowl was out of stock but they had a mac and cheese taco so we got that and it was amazing. All in all I'd recommend the food but be warned about...
Read moreAppalling service. At the counter all the screens were black so we had no view on what the menu looked like. When ordering on the machine instead of the counter, the buzzers that tells you that the food is ready were missing.
Our order was wrong and our drinks were missing, when we pointed this out they only provided us with the drinks and didn’t listen any further and turned us away.
We opted to eat in however received our order in a takeaway bag.
The team was clearly overwhelmed, the manager cannot handle her team as other clients kept on refilling the buzzers at the ordering machine.
Toilets are disgusting and toilet paper was missing.
Unpleasant and...
