Restoran Kaldrma — Restaurant in MZ Donja Mahala

This was our second time coming to this restaurant; same time for same event each year. Service last year was amazing and everything went great. However, this year service appeared to have slipped slightly. We made an effort to stop by very early in the day with the specific intent to make a reservation in the same spot as we had the previous year. The hostess met us and took our information and request for an evening reservation and at which table, which was the same table we had the previous year.

We were running a little late, so we called to advise that we were still on the way. We were advised to not worry and that our table would be reserved. However, we arrived only to find our table given away and no reservation was being held for us. When we asked, everyone had blank stares. We ended up still having dinner at a different table, but the arriving disappointed spoiled the mood a bit, so we decided to skip on a bottle of wine we intended to order and instead just stuck to coffee and water.

Food was still good and service was as well. The restaurants did offer us a few glasses of rakija on the house as an apology, which was also nice; but unfortunately the mood had already been impacted.

Genuinely one of the worst dining experiences of my life.

Would never recommend anyone to go here! Visited with our small baby and we're given a filthy highchair with dead flies, hair, old food and dust. Requested for it to be cleaned and the server said no and was so rude, I said there's dead flies on it do you expect me to feed my baby like this, and was bought cleaning spray and tissue and told I can do it myself.

Also asked for a teaspoon to feed my baby with and was purposely ignored, I went down to get it myself as thought they might have got busy but the staff were just stood chatting.

Spoke to the manager at the end who said completely ignored all of our complaints, said his staff didn't do anything and did his best, we were told to "pay the money and leave" and we're shouted at outside the restaurant, such a horrible & humiliating experience with our small baby.

Food was awful as well. If it wasn't close to our babies bedtime I would have left and eaten at the other restaurants on the street, many of which had very kind and helpful staff with...

Enjoyed the trout fish here for 15KM—the portion size was very large for one person! If you come in a pair I suggest ordering one main and one smaller plate as it’s a fair bit of food! The fish was cooked well, however I was hoping for more flavour of some sort, it was very plain. I recommend getting one of the local more flavourful dishes here as I trust they’d be tasty. Friendly service and willing to accommodate foreigners. Their menu came in Bosnian and English on the other page which was helpful to identify some of the dishes. They had working WIFI and you can pay by card here. Great view of the smaller historic bridge and lucky to hear live music from the bar by the bridge on this Saturday evening! Great local experience.
