ATTENTION "TRAVELING MEN": I went here for game 2 of the NBA Finals 2023. Everything is overpriced even for being on the beach. My friend and I decided to drink only beer. When the check came there was twice as many beers on it than we drank. Once I mentioned my friend has 4 beers and I had 5 with AUTHORITY, our check was changed without to much of a fight. Attempting to overcharge foriegn customers is a very tacky practice especially when you are already charging ULTRA-PREMIUM prices. I wonder if Mab's staff feels that if the is a language barrier that a person must also not be able to count.

There is also a "10% service fee" added to your bill. Take a picture of your bill when it arrives. Shortly after you pay the bill a staff member will come over with a credit card machine begging for a tip. Just remember that you have already given a tip that you did not voluntary offer up. You are also not required to pay the 10% service fee they automatically add to you bill either (You can have this removed). No one can force you to tip!

Great location overseeing the beach, but... Service was terrible, waited for food for ages, our waiter kept disappearing, and was quite dismissive whenever we tried to catch his attention.

I can understand that the restaurant is understaffed, but only if that is said in a nice way and with a simple apology. Ultimately that's not my problem. I'm there to relax and definitely not to feel like I'm being done a favor for getting basic service. Btw, when one of my friends complained to the waiter, the answer was it's not his fault and blamed the restaurant. You just don't do that to your colleagues or manager...

Anyway, the chicken with vegetables was good. My friend though got a Caesar salad instead of what she ordered, and it didn't even have chicken in it.

Also wifi is so slow it's basically unusable.

If you want a spilt bill, it's best you ask from the very beginning.

Another problem (not specific to the restaurant) is that if you sit close to the street you'll get harassed all the time by people...

Real Tourist Trap and Rip Off.

Mab's has a good open air location to hang out to meet people and The Girls. It is a first stop for most male foreigners who are vacationing. But be beware. The prices are high and it may be only my perception, most of the wait staff are unsmiling, unfriendly, and appear to have contempt for their customers (foreigners). I was told by others to check your bill for excess charges, especially in a group of people. Though I got a bill for $92 on my credit card but the merchant's name was unfamiliar "Rio E Mar". Very long story short I found out the merchant was Mab"s. Because of the age of the bill I had to pay it. I have always gone there alone and never worked up a bill like that.
