One of my favourite restaurants.
I’ve had the pleasure of dining at Cipriani twice—once in 2022 and again in 2025—and both experiences have been exceptional. As a vegetarian, I’ve opted for the vegetarian tasting menu each time, and it has been fantastic. It never feels like a compromise; every dish is thoughtfully crafted and highly imaginative.
The service is always outstanding, making each visit a delight. The staff are incredibly helpful, taking the time to explain each dish in English (my Portuguese is improving, but still a work in progress!).
The wine list is extensive, though slightly on the higher end price-wise for what’s on offer. Italian wines, unsurprisingly, are a highlight, but I’d love to see more focus on white wines. That said, I understand red wines are generally favoured here in Brazil.
A particular standout is the restaurant’s commitment to evolving its offerings. I love that they now feature a full vegan tasting menu alongside a great selection of vegan dishes. Each visit has felt unique, and it’s clear they are continuously refining and elevating the experience.
Overall, Cipriani is a world-class restaurant that masterfully balances tradition with innovation, honouring the foundations of Italian cuisine while exploring new creative possibilities.
I can’t wait for my next visit!...
Read moreHonestly, the price range is three-star level, but the quality of the food is not even one star. All of us were very disappointed though it was a very important dinner for me with my best friend.
The menu has two courses, R$575/person and R$695/person. However, the volume and quality were far below expectations. The appetizers were finger food. The presentation was a little elaborate, but it was by no means made with high-quality ingredients. The main dish of veal was just a bite-sized, and I didn't realize it was the main dish until the dessert was brought.
What was even more disappointing us was that a group of five people who arrived later smelled so strongly of perfume that all the customers frowned, but the restaurant let them sit down without any warning. This would never happen in a Michelin-starred restaurant in Western Europe such as Italy or France.
The wine list is three-star level in terms of price, but the lineup is not sophisticated at all.
All in all, other than the fact that it is located inside the Copacabana Palace Hotel, there was nothing that could justify the high price.
The only saving grace I would say was that the wait staff was excellent.
Again, the price was three-star level, but the quality of the food was not even one star. Afraid we hereby swear never...
Read moreDining at Cipriani was a truly unforgettable experience. From the moment we stepped into the elegant dining room, with its Italian mirrors and chandeliers overlooking the iconic Copacabana pool, we knew we were in for something special. The attention to detail in both the service and presentation was impeccable.
The food was nothing short of exquisite. We indulged in beautifully plated dishes that were as much a feast for the eyes as for the palate. The risotto was perfectly creamy, and the seafood was fresh, full of flavor, and delicately prepared. Each course was thoughtfully crafted, showcasing authentic Italian flavors with a modern twist.
The atmosphere added to the magic of the evening—there’s something mesmerizing about dining poolside at such a legendary venue. The impeccable service made us feel like royalty, and the overall ambiance was serene yet luxurious, making for a truly memorable night. I highly recommend the tasting menu if you’re looking to experience the full range of the chef’s talents.
