It was my first time at Gero. The architecture takes you to a rustic Italian shed. Very well harmonized antique with a modern touch. Once we got there, the place was full and we were moved to the bar, and the table was cleared pretty quick. The service was EXTRAORDINARY at the table and bar. The menu is very traditional and we started with the "Il Vero Carpaccio", the presentation was great, and the flavor was ok. Since we saw the sign on the wall with "best lasagna in SP" from Quatro Rodas magazine, I decided to go with that option and my wife tried the Gnocchi with sausage that was suggested by the Maitre. Both plates were great. Not spectacular but great. As dessert, we had the "Profiteroles All'Italiana" that was amazing. We also had espresso coffee that we highly recommend since it comes with some cookie samples. That was a big hit. The restaurant in general was a 5 star, but I believed that the menu was overpriced for what they were serving and because of that, I'm giving a...

The ambience was great, both indoors and out. The service was also good. But the food was very average. The salmon starter had a really chewy texture. The pasta with the tomato sauce was pretty much uncooked tinned tomatoes with some burnt basil and no seasoning whatsoever, an amateur cook could have made a better tomato sauce. The ravioli was nice, but unfortunately was swimming in tonnes of grease and oil and not the extra virgin kind. Perhaps I was unlucky, perhaps the normal chefs were off work but I was sad and disappointed with a meal that I was very much...
Read moreA beautiful looking restaurant with very nice ambiance but that’s all this place has to offer. We came in on a reservation and it took 5 minutes to get our table. Then we waited 20 minutes to get any waiter to come to our table and the place wasn’t busy. I literally had to get up from my chair twice to get a menu and then I looked for the manager but the waiter said he was “not there”. We finally got up and left. Then they decided to ask what we want but that was too late. They are very unorganized, poor training and/or lack of management looking over the operations. A terrible experience at Gero restaurant and I let our concierge know too so other guests do not experience...
