Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at this incredible restaurant, and I must say, it was an unforgettable experience. The restaurant is nestled under a majestic fig tree, creating a unique and enchanting atmosphere. The combination of the beautiful setting and the impeccable service truly made it a fantastic dining experience. Let's start with the food. The menu offered a wide variety of options, and I was particularly impressed with their selection of fish and steak dishes. Decided to try the ceviche and Carpaccio, among other dishes. The Carpacciostood out as a highlight of the meal. The ceviche was equally excellent, bursting with fresh flavors. To accompany the meal, I explored their extensive wine menu, which had a comprehensive selection. The service was prompt and attentive, ensuring that our food was served in a timely manner. The restaurant itself is quite spacious, combining both indoor and outdoor seating areas. It is highly recommended to make a reservation in advance, as this popular spot tends to fill up quickly. The central attraction of the restaurant is undoubtedly the majestic fig tree, which adds a touch of magic and serves as a centerpiece. In terms of the cuisine, the restaurant offers an interesting twist on classic European dishes, infused with Brazilian flavors. I particularly enjoyed the inventive versions of puffed crisps. The steak, as mentioned in previous reviews, was cooked to perfection, showcasing the chef's culinary expertise. The restaurant leans towards the higher end in terms of pricing, the overall experience does not justifies the cost. It is a perfect place for a...

Overhyped and underwhelming.
I was excited to try A Figueira Rubaiyat, but unfortunately, it didn’t live up to the expectations. While the non-meat options, like the vegetables and purple sweet potato, were excellent (vegetables in São Paulo are surprisingly delicious), the main attraction—the steak—was a complete disappointment.
I specifically asked the head waiter, pointing to a photo from another review, what cut of meat it was, and he confidently said ‘Chorizo.’ However, the steak I received had excessive marbling and looked “old” once cooked. It was so unappetizing I could barely eat half of it.
To make matters worse, the service was indifferent. Despite the restaurant being nearly empty (I was dining at 5 PM), a staff member hovered quite aggressively (if that’s even possible) near my table after my plates were cleared, clearly waiting for me to order more or pay the bill. This awkwardness dragged on for 15 minutes before he moved on.
For the price and reputation, I expected far better. There are plenty of other restaurants in São Paulo offering excellent food and service—save your time and money and try one of them instead.
update as of December 07 The restaurant responded within 3 minutes of me posting the review. Impressive, I would say. And while I wrote an email as requested a couple of hours later, I have yet to receive a response.
update as of January 03 Still no news from the restaurant. I’ll update this review once this changes. Be wary.
