Honestly, one of the worst tasting menus I've had in Sao Paulo. I didn't even finish some of the dishes they were so bad, which is particularly sad at the price it is at.
The food was very salty and poorly blended diverse ingredients. For example, the bacalhau tortellini was just overpowering bacalhau same with the polenta and bacalhau snack. Nothing new, unique, or creative about it. The balance in the mixture was very off on almost all the salty dishes. Somehow they even managed to make their chocolate filled with something taste bad. Ruining chocolate is a skill.
The one exception was the scallop dish with shrimp which was marvelous. The final desserts were also good.
No idea how this place has a Michelin star.
If you want someone who artistically blends flavors eat at Mani or try Murakami.
Plus none of the staff (that attended us) seemed to speak enough English to explain ingredients we didn't know nor is the menu in English - which is odd for any halfway decent restaurant in that district...
Read moreWished the food was better. Ordered the bone marrow crostini as appetiser and was extremely salty and oily, it would have been better for this to be served with the marrow in its bone and the crostini separately - each bite felt that the bread was dripping in oil. The prawn spaghettini was very dry, it would have benefited from a lot more sauce, the pasta was very doughy and it was not the best. Did not opt for dessert and they didn’t have anything interesting on the menu, but for a Michelin star didn’t even get petit fours after the meal. A bit odd and it’s just overrated with the Michelin accolade, not recommended if you are expecting to come here for fine dining, casual meal is fine. Staff are friendly but they speak only barely...
Read moreIn general, we really liked this place. Me and my girlfriend had an excelllent experience, with overall great food, good service and a nice ambience. We loved the homemade pasta, also the portions were very generous. The price-quality ratio is decent.
I was only a bit disappointed with the sommelier. I asked for a wine option with my main course (gnocchi with truffle), but the sommelier only recommended red rather than white wine. He didn't give a specific wine recommendation and said 'just take any red wine, they all match your dish'. I expected a bit more indepth knowledge from the sommelier, at least a recommendation which wine best...
