The place is located in the Ipanema area, From the outside looks smaller than, once you walk through it gives to you the appreciation and ambiance of the place. You could dress as you desire, however it is chic tropical. It is understood you are entering to experience a great Mediterranean cuisine. Service was good, however be aware of the practice where the antipasto may show to your table surprisingly, as a result when the maître d with all finesse asks if could bring water and or cocktails to the table and may consider experiencing some antipasto. While I had communicated to the maître d (while being seated), "will consider, not yet). The next interaction is the antipasto plate landing. Immediately clicked that memory of the old establishments’ habits in some parts of Rio. I do like to enjoy the place and do not let minuscule things like it spoiled the evening. However, it is needed to be mentioned here for the old establishment to learn the needs to embrace in gusto rather to the opposite. The Dry Vodka Martinis created all you need to enjoy the place and certainly the atmosphere. The atmosphere of the restaurant calls to make this, a night to be special and bring your evening attire to Chic . I think you will love it, as I did. For the cuisine, I have a pasta entrée with scallops and shell which met expectations, and nothing else. My husband had the Filet Mignon which it was good. In contrast a simple side dish of Potato al Forno, it was tragically cold to the core. The servers tried to remedy the situation, however felt short again upon arrival as it continued to be cold. I was disappointed of the cuisine experience we had in general, however the Dry Vodka Martinis were the best and indeed...
Read moreWe had an absolutely fantastic experience at Ristorante Satyricon in the heart of Alcludia's Old Town. From the moment we sat down we were impressed!!! However, it was the food that truly blew us away!! Every dish we ordered was bursting with authentic Italian flavour and absolutely cooked to perfection!! The fresh ingredients and the authentic techniques used were at the heart of every dish that we had.... And OMG did we eat well!!! We started with Italian meatballs and a delicious burrata salad that was simple but so flavourful. I had the truffle risotto with mushroom that was to die for ( generous chunks of flavourful mushrooms in a beautiful bath of truffle, garlic and Parmesan cheese. My husband chose the spaghetti à la Vongole and promptly declared it was the best he ever had. We typically never write reviews, but feel after the reviews we read regarding this restaurant and how they seemed a little mixed. We had to set the record straight by saying if you are on vacation and you are looking for an unbelievable meal while in old port Alcludia Show up or make a reservation ( There is a beautiful and gracious lady who greet you named Valerie ) Tell her Kathy and Jamie sent you from Canada 🇨🇦 You will not be disappointed !!! On a sidenote, we spoke to the Chef and they have upgraded their menu changed over some of their servers for the 2025 season and honestly, this was A 15 out of 10...

Our friends recommended this place as the best spot for seafood. It’s a pretty big restaurant with a huge display of fresh seafood. The interior is simple, but elegant.
Food:
We tried a bunch of dishes: the lobster Thermidor, which is probably their signature dish since we saw a lot of people ordering it. It’s a big, perfectly cooked lobster in a creamy cheese sauce. Delicious! The lobster inside was juicy and had the perfect texture. We also really liked the seafood soup. It had a ton of seafood in it – it could easily be a main course. The seafood was perfectly cooked and the broth was very rich, perfectly balanced with spices. The chef's signature langoustine appetizer wasn’t our favorite. The sauce was too heavy and kind of overpowered the delicate langoustine flavor. The grilled langoustines weren’t perfectly balanced with spices, although they were very soft and tender. The crab tartare was my favorite dish here – crab, avocado, and sauce. They found the perfect balance of textures and flavors.
Service:
The service was friendly, and some waiters spoke English, which is a huge plus.
Overall:
This restaurant is definitely on the pricier side. We enjoyed the food, and almost everything was great. I think this is the perfect place to try fresh seafood, and I...
