This is my first time having feijoada and Bolinha knocked it out of the park for me. They served an amuse of sorts when I arrived, a tiny cup of ..i think the thick broth left over from cooking the beans. It also happened to be a somewhat cold evening so that really hit the spot. It was rich, creamy, savory and utterly delicious.
The waiters didn't speak English, so it was all Google translate and hand gestures. But everyone comes for the one thing... Except i should have asked them to just give me the classic. Came for lunch and the wait staff took great care of me. Went for the “light” option, which is a little less offal and a little more traditional meat. The portions are generous to say the least-so much meat, rice, beans, greens and other accompaniments.
But quantity didn’t mean sacrificing quality-everything was super flavorful and each component was well seasoned.
And it was, of course, served with a caipirinha.
