We recently visited this restaurant. The interior looks nice and cozy, but unfortunately, smoking is allowed inside, and the smell of cigarettes was quite unpleasant. However, we understand that this is still common in Bulgaria.
The food looked great, and we were really looking forward to it. Unfortunately, our experience was ruined by the waiter. He was unfriendly from the moment we arrived and behaved as if we were bothering him just by being there. When we asked if they had an English menu, he simply said “No” with no apology or explanation. He threw the Bulgarian menu on our table rather than handing it to us politely.
We managed to translate the menu using a phone app and placed our order in English. Although the waiter acted like he understood, he brought us the wrong meals. I ordered a gyro and was served a pork steak instead. My partner specifically asked for her meal without rice, but it was served with rice anyway, despite the waiter assuring her there would be none.
The food itself was decent – my steak was fine, though the fries were lukewarm, not hot. My partner’s meal was okay, except for the unwanted rice. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience. We noticed the waiter was friendly and cheerful with local Bulgarian customers but was openly rude and hostile towards us. Whether this was because we were tourists or because we spoke English, I can’t say. But it made us feel very unwelcome.
The service was shockingly bad, unprofessional, and unacceptable. We left no tip, and frankly, if we could have charged them for the bad service, we would have. Even the bill they brought us was smeared with grease, which was disgusting.
To be fair, the food at other tables looked great, so I believe the problem was with this specific waiter, not the restaurant as a whole. It’s a shame because the place has potential, but people like him should not be working in...
Read moreRestaurant is nice as decorations and atmosphere, however they have to work a lot to improve the quality of service. The waiter took away my plate before i eat my last piece and even though i was holding bread in my hand, he was reluctant to pack for take away a whole salad which we hadn't touched and expressed an opinion that this is meaningless because it will be disgusting till we go home. In the menu a fish soup is 15 leva which is higher than in the restaurants in Greece by the seaside. It was written in the menu it contains 7 types of fish and when i asked which are those 7,the waiter said that it was written 7, however this cannot be true and they were not more than 3. Actually it was only 1. When we arrived in the restaurant we wanted to change the table because the ventilation system was blowing in our foreheads, however it was not possible let's accept all the tableas were reservves as assured by the waiter, but he also said they don't use this one because of the blowing ventilation, however the table was fully equipped and obviously in use. Ah and yes, in the restaurant they give ashtrays and people smoke even though it's forbidden by Bulgarian laws to smoke inside. For its prices and pretentious, they have a lot more to reconsider...
Read moreThe interior of the restaurant is nice. I would say typical Greek tavern. we went on a Thursday night and it was quite busy. I would say completely full. the food was kind of okay. nothing spectacular but also nothing bad. I had the fried calamari which were okay. nothing out of the ordinary but also nothing to complain about. then I had the pork souvlaki which came with a side of green salad and potatoes. the potatoes were kind of cold and I think they were pre-made. just waiting to be put on a plate. the salad was just tossed in there without any dressing or anything like that. it just stood there tasteless. the souvlaki was also nothing spectacular. I don't even think they marinated the meat. I think it was just put on the grill which was okay because I like naturally flavored meat. The service however, was very hard to get. it took us about 15 minutes to call for the check and then another 15 minutes to wait for the check. we constantly have to chase the waiter which was not okay in my opinion. he never checked on us, neither did he have a look at the...
