Large rooms, it looks a bit old but it's clean. The breakfast was good and the staff was welcoming. And now for the room (it might change from a room to an other). The windows are thick so there's no issues with the noise. Unfortunately there are some downsides. I am tall, my head was hitting the roof while standing in the bathtub to take my shower (it was very annoying but it shouldn't be an issue for 95% of the people). It also takes quite a while to have hot water and it can take a bit of time to get the right temperature. Last thing is that the curtains are a bit shorter than the windows meaning you will have daylight in the room in the morning. If it doesn't bother you then it shouldn't be an issue. Overall the stay was great, I would recommend.

The hotel’s location is good, but that’s about it. Our room was dirty when we arrived. A cleaner came by, and we asked her to return in 10 minutes, but she never came back. Breakfast was one of the worst I’ve ever had — very limited choices, and the coffee machine was out of order for both days of our stay. When items ran out, like the eggs, they only started cooking more after that, so we had to wait 30 minutes for a new batch. The staff didn’t seem to care at all.

I had a wonderful stay at Hotel Downtown! I spent three days there and was very impressed with the staff – friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help. The rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable, and the breakfast was rich and varied. The location is fantastic – just steps away from the National Palace of Culture (NDK) and perfect for exploring the city center. A great place to relax – I’d definitely come back again. Highly recommended!

This charming, cosy and upmarket hotel with its excellent location is still one of my first choices when I go to Sofia. In fact, it's my favourite for "romantic" weekends in Sofia.||||Despite the pandemic, the staff is welcoming and professional. The rooms are cosy in an elegant way and clean and I get anywhere I want in no time.||||They had to give up their private parking (which used to be a privilege in that area) due to the substantial drop in business from Covid, but there is a paid parking very close.||||Also due to Covid and the limited business from that, they are currently not hosting their fabulous breakfast buffet. Breakfast is "per order" now but they try to make you happy and fulfil all your wishes. As I was alone this time, my waistline was quite pleased with that.||||And with current "covid-prices" for the room they offer the best price-quality-relation in Sofia at the moment.||||For me: 10...

the hotel is billed as centrally located and it is, however the instructions we got at the airport to get there took us on the far side. Take the direction of the National Cultural Palace and you are literally 5 minute walk from the hotel. The rooms are well equipped, clean and spacious. The hotel is on the small side and looks better inside than on the outside. the staff are friendly. It would be great if the hotel had information on the available massage on their website so one could book in advance as it is not located in side of the hotel, they do come in. Breakfast is quite solid with ample choices. Beware of taxis in Sofia and in general in Bulgaria, they are not expensive but make sure you tell the driver ahead of time that you expect a receipt and make sure you have CHANGE...also have google map open on your phone otherwise they will drive...

Th hotel is cleaned and not too far from tourist attractions sites. Room is spacious and the bed is comfortable. Do not pay for breakfast at the facility. It is a rip-off. The fruits and cheeses are not fresh. It appreaed that there were stored for days. Scrambled eggs is cold and tasteless. Not much varieties to choose from. The only thing fresh on the menue were tomatoes and cucumber. There are several cafés and restaurants in the surroundings that serve great breakfasts. Update: As noted above, I was not happy with the breakfast. Since I had paid in advance for breakfast, after the first day I requested a refund following my complaint. At check out, management appologized for the snafu along with the chef. I also received my full refund. Hence, I change my 3 start review to 4* and I applaude their acknowledgment that changes...
