Before Covid this was a very nice restaurant but the 3-4 times I have been in the last year it is consistently disappointing service with your usual sleazy waiters trying to sell you stuff: Bulgarian/cheaper beers that are on the menu are never available, even when I could see a full fridge with the one I wanted the waiter made some excuse that the bottles were ‘expired’ and they were not serving them (but still keeping chilled in the fridge?! 🤔) I ordered a bottle of nice wine and the waiter brought it already opened (it’s good that I drink this wine often so I know it was what it said on the bottle hah)…and he didn’t bother pouring some for tasting, just straight up filled all the glasses… Every time I am being recommended special fish from Greece which arrived ‘two hours ago’ and lamb chops from Serbia from ‘this morning’ and really pushed to order specific dishes. Last time the waiter even went so far as to saying that the dish I had chosen ‘does not really have much flavour and I won’t like it’ -hah! The sides that you order with your main are going to arrive on the table first, with all the drinks and not actually with your main the food is generally still okay, but not as good as it was in 2018-2019 and so now it feels pricey for what it is… on one occasion all the mince meat mains were so salty and on another my favourite warm breads were quite tough and dry and not as fresh as usual.. People I have recently taken here have not enjoyed it and I felt embarrassed that I have highly recommended we go...
Read moreI usually do not leave bad reviews but this one was bad enough to post. Typical Bulgarian cold attitude from the waiters to start. Super expensive food which by the way was super expensive but good. Quite spicy so make sure you ask if it is because even though you might not eat spicy they will still bring it to you and bill you for it. Waiter was super pushy for us to order and be quick with it. We said we’d like to taste whatever they have to to bring tasting platters so he took it as give us half portions but bill us for full portions. What you see in the pictures plus 3 waters, 3 айрани and three pana cotas was 421lv including the mandatory minimum 10% tips that you must leave because they are apparently ‘pushed’ by someone to charge us no matter how unhappy we are with our experience. Went out for a smoke outside where the smoking table was and waters gave us the stinky eye every time they passed by it?!? In conclusion- very tasty food, mediocre atmosphere and terrible typical Bulgarian attitude from the waiters. Would...
Read moreIf you’re planning to visit this restaurant, better wear a suit. I experienced slow and rude service, waiting 15 minutes just to place an order. Despite several free tables for two being available, we were given the worst table. Shortly after, another couple arrived, dressed more formally, and were immediately seated at a better table with noticeably more polite treatment from the staff.
I decided to test if their behavior would differ based on my casual clothing choice. Unfortunately, my suspicion was confirmed—they seemed to prioritize elderly, well-dressed patrons, even though some were loud and disruptive.
I had two additional outfits in the car for work later that day, but I couldn’t justify wasting time changing just to receive basic respect. If you value good service over appearances, this might not be the place for you.
P.S. Many items from the barbecue menu were unavailable, so I couldn’t even order my...
