Last time I ate here before today was 2 years ago and I had no complaints. Today I decided to take a few friends there as the food is still really good. However the issues here are the following:
Upon entering and before choosing a table for 4, the manager or supervisor decided to make a remark and point out that because of us, there was water on the floor (keep in mind it was raining heavily outside. He insolently nudged us to pick a table faster and put the umbrellas at the designated place for them along with our jackets since more clients will show up (we were the only clients then at 12:30 AM).
We sat down and a blonde waitress came to give us 4 menus. Upon ordering food, one of my friends finished his order and left his menu beside him, informing the waitress we will keep one for later and after a few seconds of staring silently she defiantly commented "but you have 4" (the other 3 were still in use and we were going through the pages still) as she turned and walked away.
After a while she came back to take the orders and my friends were wondering between 2 main courses and this insolent waitress stood there and insolently told them to "decide already", as if there was a timer to this (we were still the Only clients in the restaurant) and acted as if we are responsible for her working in this restaurant and having this type of job, which she Obviously hated so much and if it was up to me, I'd fire her immediately on the spot to end her suffering 🙂🙃 . For the whole time we spent in the restaurant, both the manager/supervisor and the waitress were giving us looks witout reason and were openly discussing us, it was apparent.
Bottom line: food quality is still on point 10/10, compliments to the chefs. The service is Horrific and the attitude is Disgusting 😠 The people working there are without any manners and never even apologized for displaying such low communication standards. The only thing that can make me come back are the chefs that make such incredible paste.
If you wanna go to a place filled with low mannered and self absorbed, entitled individuals while having a very nicely cooked meal, this is the place for you! Wouldn't recommend if you want decently...
Read moreMe and my husband had a dinner in El Shada. The athmosphere was good and cosy.
Service: We had reservation which was in the second saloon (not with the entrance from the main street). The waiter (skinny younger one) did not even say good evening in response to our greeting. Then passed by us, going to the table without saying anything and just waved at us with meaning "come". We had few questions about some of the dishes from the menu on which he answered us with 1-2 words while making faces on our questions. The food didn't arrive on the table at the same time and it took some time for the second dish. During that time the waiter was asked for a plate and ice, 10 min passed by when we asked the female waiter for the same and 2-3 min after that our waiter came with those. He didn't even ask us once if we need anything, the whole time we were there. I give score of "2" and not "1" for the service only because of the person (waiter) with the beard who helped me choose a desert. He was helpful and nice.
Food: The food was ok, but nothing more. I ate pasta Bolognese with beef filet. It was a bit tasteless, both the sauce and the meet. My husband ate pizza Speciale and the situation was the same. A bit tasteless. For desert I got a cheesecake, not the classic one, but the one with white chocolate and it was really good!
Time management?!: When we chose the deserts and waiting for them, one of the waitres came and asked us to move from our table to another, because another people reserved this table (?!?!). We were shocked but we agreed, didn't want to ruin the night discussing that. When we said fine we saw they already placed our deserts on the other table in the other end of the saloon. After all we also made a reservation and we stayed for a little less than 2 hours, which I think it's a normal time to spend in a restaurant for dinner...
In my entire life no one moved me from a table to another, еven more so when we have made a...
Read moreMy colleagues and I have been visiting this restaurant once every week for the past few weeks. Every time, things were great—except for the last visit: A few hours before lunch, they accepted our reservation for 13 people. We arrived, took our seats, placed our orders, and were only then informed that only one cook was working. As a result, we were told that we had to wait around 60 minutes for the last dish to be served. We were already there and eventually after a short discussion decided to stay and "do the time". The lady serving us was polite and tried her best, eventually managing to bring more staff to help and thus shortening the wait time. When the dishes started coming out, we noticed that those of us who had ordered the same dish received half portions. It seemed the restaurant was splitting servings to handle the orders within a reasonable amount of time. For instance, I had a full risotto portion while my colleague across from me received less than half the size of mine—both risottos, but different types. Accepting our reservation knowing they couldn’t handle the orders was wrong, and they should have informed us from the start - bad service. Splitting portions was an especially disappointing move - bad food. Although the place is generally good, they did really poorly this time, leaving me—and my colleagues—feeling like we don’t...
