We found this place by accident, but it turned out to be on our list of places to try anyway. The staff knows that they are in a high-end place, and they act like it. A bit hipster, a bit snobby, but overall they were fine. We came back three times after our first visit, so I think that says a lot. The food is pricier than other places in Sofia, but it's farm-to-table, so that may be why. They had a caviar dish that was spectacular, one soup that was amazing (a tomato thing), and another (the Italian family pasta, or something like that) that was average. But pretty much all of the dishes that we had, other than that one soup, were incredibly tasty. The ingredients are clearly fresh, they put a lot of care into their flavor combinations, and, once they got to know me, even the hipsters were friendly. The decor is really adorable, and the name certainly reflects the visuals. It feels like a home that they have opened up to guests. The vibe was very relaxed, and I will probably be back again and again. What more can I...
Read moreUpdate: We visited this place again yesterday. We ordered something like pizza with eggs and cheese with jalapeño and olives, which was really good. Also the service was good, and a big advantage is that they are dog friendly restaurant. But... the dish with cauliflower wasn’t delicious at all and uncooked. We didn’t like the trout too, it was not flavoured. The house wine was good but expensive- 18 lv for half a litter?! Come on, in Amalfi the prices are more reasonable than here. We were in many places in Amalfi last autumn and we drank a really good wine in a same price. I am a little bit disappointed. Unfortunately I think that Made in home is not so exclusive place as was before. I give 4 stars because of the pita (pizza), the service and definitely because they are dog friendly.
Before two years - 5 stars. Interesting place, nice and cozy atmosphere, good service, delicious food and big portions! They have plenty of meat and vegetarian meals. Recommend! This place is better than...
Read moreThis is a fairly difficult review for me to write because I did really enjoy this meal. My wife and I shared the chickpea salad, I had the slow roasted ribs, and my wife had the chicken shawarma. All of which was delicious. I did not like that the place was cash only, but they do advertise this. I should have checked them out before coming, but we went based on a business associates recommendation, and a friend made the reservation for us. If this was an American establishment I would have deducted a star based on this fact but I won't simply because this is not my country and it's not my place. The reason for the 1 star deduction is for the water. It is not standard practice in Europe to provide free water, I understand this. We ordered a .75 liter water expecting a bottle of water with a sealed cap which is standard practice. The cost was 4.9BGN and what we received was a refillable glass bottle with what may have been filtered water, or it may have...
