I was shocked walking and about to sit down today morning. We usually go for the past 2 years with our toddler son and my partner and a big dog (Rottweiler). We never have any issues with bringing the dog in as he’s a well behaved dog and the staff know us well plus we used to call before if dog is allowed and they said yes if the dog is well behaved. So we never encountered this issue.
Today after our regular walk, we went for breakfast as usual and sitting outside leashed the dog on the side far from people and he’s sitting down quietly. One staff member I don’t know maybe he’s new or they’ve changed the rule, he came and told me that dogs are not allowed as we all say down. So we explained that we usually come here weekly and nothing ever happened because we know that dogs are allowed. He responded that they never allowed dogs so we asked other staff who know us and they were surprised by the mans words. The waitresses asked us why are we leaving so we told them because one of your members told us dogs are not allowed. They were in awe and the guy just being silenced and couldn’t respond to our answers and kept looking at his phone. So we just walked out and of course upset because the food and the place is our favorite spot. Every staff there is nice except that one lost man (maybe he’s a new guy or I don’t know) We understand having big dogs in Cambodia is like having a monster lol.

Read moreThis place has a massive menu with something for everyone. Some of the items they didn't have, but for the most part, they have what you need. My family visited Magnolia Restaurant three times over the course of our long journey, and every time we were satisfied. The only time service was subpar was when we ate upstairs... we thought it would be cooler, which it wasn't, and they tend to forget to check those areas from what I can tell.
Prices are a bit steep compared to other restaurants in the area, but well worth it since this place can get quite busy. The service is super friendly, especially once we returned multiple times.
The bread on the banh mi was so fresh, and the pickles played with a perfect acidity with the sauce they used. The meats tender and the herbs delightful. Now, their banh xeos are massive, and the platter set comes with a lot of food. It goes well with the stir-fry morning glory since the meat in the banh xeo isn't seasoned enough. I can not recall my last meal here, but it too was delightful.
This place is worth the visit if you are close by, and remember to...
Read moreWe came in for dinner with a party of 17 people. The food here is decent at best. Just not a lot of flavor but the service was pretty good. It took a long time for our whole chicken to come out. I ordered the shrimp fried rice, an order of their spring rolls which are like the size of a pinky but you get a decent amount and bunch of other things. So we got everything we ordered and by the time we were all done eating we were still waiting on the chicken. Overall it’s “mid” in the young people’s slang back in the states. It’s my first time coming here and coming to Phnom Penh but the food is okay and the service is fairly good. Cleanliness is still somewhat better than a good chunk of the places I’ve seen around Cambodia so far. As a reminder just be weary on drinking ice anywhere out here. Especially for first time travelers from the states. It’s something my family had always warned me about before...
