Pros: location is great, rooms are new and nicely decorated. The hotel is conveniently located above a supermarket. The breakfast is ok, although they should put a sign for the egg stand and probably include some local options, other hotels have much nicer options for breakfast. I definitely recommend the hotel overall, but they have some weak points they need to improve. Cons: housekeeping is awful, they don't leave any shower gel or shampoo and after I call the reception, they bring only one of each for a room of 3 people (?!) So I have to call again. They never sweeped the room, there were dead bugs on the floor and a huge mark on the wall from previous stays and they stayed there for the three full nights and four full days we stayed there. Staff doesn't understand English and cannot help with any touristic information. We stayed at the room 602 (it was named a superior triple room) and I can say rooms are not conveniently designed, there is one bedside table for a three people room. Lighting is not enough - you cannot possibly read a book in your bed with the bed lighting. Pillows are very fat and they don't have thin options. My neck hurts. AC does not have a low option to keep on through the night, it is really hard to sleep with it on blowing hard on your face all night. The sink is leaking to the floor. They are marketing the rooms as 40 sq. Meters, but I measured the whole room and it is hardly 25 sq. Meters including the shower and the bathroom.

I recently stayed at the Phonm Penh 51 hotel in Cambodia, and I must warn others to be very cautious about booking this property. While the photos and online listings make the hotel seem luxurious and well-appointed, the reality is quite different. First of all, the property is not accurately represented online. The rooms are much smaller and less clean than the photos suggest. There were issues with cleanliness throughout, including questionable stains and odors in the rooms. The "amenities" touted on their website were also lacking - the WiFi was spotty at best, and the staff were unhelpful and seemed disinterested in providing good customer service. But perhaps the most concerning aspect was the strange atmosphere at the hotel, especially at night. Guests have reported seeing unexplained shadowy figures lurking in the halls and public areas. There were also unsettling noises and an overall unsettling energy that made me and other travelers feel very uncomfortable during our stay. In summary, I would strongly advise against booking the Venom Penh 51 hotel. Despite the tempting pictures and descriptions, the reality falls far short. There are many better and more reliable hotel options available in Cambodia that will provide a safer and more pleasant experience. Do your research carefully before committing to this property. Your comfort and security should be the top priority.

When we arrived at the Phnom Penh 51 we were greeted by friendly front desk staff. When shown to our rooms, there was a strong odor - as though the floors had been mopped by a mildewy sponge. We reported it to the front desk. By the time we returned from dinner, the room had been re-cleaned and the issue was solved. The location was great. Although we found the city in general to not be very pedestrian friendly, it was nice to be so close to the monument. The night views were stunning. A word about the pool - when it rains, the rooftop area floods. Meaning that the next day everything that was on the floors of the rooftop bar get washed into the pool. When our kids went swimming there were definitely clumps of questionable material floating in the pool. So not great. The complementary breakfast was okay. You are able to order omelettes made to order. Other than that there were fresh fruits, and some other buffet items. When we were there, it was more food to cater to the international community, no khmer food, which was unfortunate. The coffee was weak.

With my line of work, I tend to book hotels frequently, and this has to be one of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had. Let me take you through the first few hours:||||Firstly, I booked via booking.com and had to pay at the hotel. Once I paid using my card and signed in, they told me my room wasn't available. They tried to put me in a much worse room, with a dirty kitchen and cockroaches, telling me it was better. As I work in my room, I am a little particular when choosing. I asked for my money back, and they refused. Then, they said my room was suddenly available. However, it wasn't my room. In a rush to work with tight deadlines, I accepted it. Then, the internet didn't work. By this point, I was unpacked and had my desk set up. They didn't believe me, so they came up to check. Then, they told me I needed to leave the room and go up to the top floor (the one I originally booked), where the wifi is better. I didn't have the time, so I told the man I would use my personal hotspot because I had a deadline to meet (by this point, it had taken 2 hours to check in). However, the man refused to leave my room while I sat frantically trying to finish a job. He kept shouting at me, telling me to go to a room upstairs and remained standing over me for 40 minutes until he left. This is how my weekend here continued to go. The pool and the view are nice in the evening, but other than that, every aspect of the hotel is pretty substandard and certainly not 4* as they claim. ||||Phnom Penh has plenty of other amazing hotels, so I would give this one a miss. They cost me a lot of money as I was unable to work properly...

We stayed at 51 Hotel & Residence in Phnom Penh for 3 nights starting on Aug 29th - Sep 1st, 2025, booked through Agoda. While the location is very convenient—right in the city center and within walking distance to many attractions—our overall experience was extremely disappointing.||Upon arrival, we were checked in by a gentleman at the reception who was friendly, professional, and helpful. Unfortunately, this level of service did not extend to the rest of the staff. Throughout our stay, most staff we encountered were neither welcoming nor attentive.||The condition of the room was unacceptable. It was filthy, with spider webs everywhere, a dead cockroach on the balcony, and lots of stains on the walls. The bed sheets looked used and torn, the couches were covered in dust, and the room clearly had not been properly cleaned or maintained.||We also attempted to visit the rooftop sky bar/restaurant twice on the 29th of August, for lunch & later for dinner. On both occasions, despite staff being present, no one greeted or acknowledged us, leaving us standing there awkwardly then we left. Because of this, we didn’t return—not even for the breakfast that was included with our booking.||We even considered checking out the same day we arrived, but the booking was non-refundable.||Bottom line: Apart from the location and one helpful receptionist, this hotel fell far below expectations in cleanliness, hospitality, and overall experience. We will not be returning and do not recommend this...
